Quite disappointed by the dish. All look like Japanese food, but tastes are not. Sushi, sashimi was ok. But agedashi tofu was not the taste it supposed to be, Katsudon pork was all fat and rice was too soggy, Tempura was doughy instead of crispy cramb. Prawn in tempura were off. Gave us another prawn just before leaving but gesitant to... More

I'm not sure Japanese people, would consider this great Japanese food but for my unsophisticated American taste buds it was pretty great. Gyoza my favorite anywhere. The set menu is a particularly good value, you'll have difficulty finishing it all, includes a free glass of wine for one person or a bottle if two people order it. Service was attentive and... No wonder that they only had a total of 6 customers during dinner hour. Food was very average. Service was OK. No cloth napkins - we each received only one very small, thin paper napkin. We ate our food with plastic "imitation chopsticks" that were so slippery I ended up picking up my tempura pieces with my fingers. My "tempura"... More

As locals we like to try a different restaurant in the area every Wednesday night. This time it was Izumi turn. We ordered a plate of fresh sashimi which was fresh although a small quantity. Next we had miso soup followed by prawns & Gonzales. All were okay but nothing out of the ordinary. The restaurant is very casual with... More

My husband, daughter, son in law and I really enjoyed our meal. Nice quiet cosy feel to this restaurant with authentic japanese food. The staff were friendly and efficient.

Unfortunately we didn't enjoy our edamame or main courses. OK sushi to start but lots of competition in the area we would go back to instead.

We had lunch here once, and dinner once. Our first visit was the better. The service was brilliant and the food very good. We took our own wine. On the second visit, the service was poor, but the food still very good.

I have been coming here for the last 8 years. Food always consistently good. reasonable price, it is easy to park at the Manly council car park. My favourite is Karrage Chicken, Wagyu Beef udon soup, Kannisarada salad, pork katsu and etc. Everything so delicious.

We stumbled upon Izumi by accident while doing a stroll around the Manly streets. This isn't a place that shouts out its existence, it has a quite a discreet street presence and is conservative in its decor. However, that's at odds with the experience. We were warmly greeted immediately and the service was excellent throughout. We went for a wide... More

Went on a Saturday night, quickly seated and the staff was very attentive. Food was great and reasonably priced. Service was excellent. Would visit again.
