We have been to 21 a couple of times, quite enjoyed previous meals and the atmosphere is good. However, this time the food was cold apart from the schnitzel, which had just come from the fryer I suppose. We were given replacement mains by a...More

Worst Service and food I’ve ever experienced. I would never go back here. Locals love this place so it has an older following. I complained about my meal and things went from bad to worse. Double Bay has much better options - it would pay...More

Great food with all your favourites on a fabulous menu. Old school and as good as it ever was. Friendly, welcoming staff. A great homely favourite in the heart of Double Bay. A must on every visit.

We found the Twenty One Espresso by chance and received a great welcome. It was spotlessly clean and all the staff members were very well presented with nothing being too much trouble. The menu was extensive and informed us that it was established in 1958...More

Nice little restaurant with good service and hearty food. It has traditional european food and the Schnitzels are of good quality and big. would go there again.

Still in the same family since 1958, it was great to speak to the grandson who filled in more of the story than is in the menu. Sixty years continuous service says something about the food. Unpretentious, perhaps some would say plain, this is an...More

This was a very busy place on Saturday night. Great food and staff. Reasonable prices. This is obviously a favourite with locals which is always a good sign.

Had takeaway coffee four times and it was great each time. Also had dinner which was very good. The menu offers many choices including a wide range of salads and the staff are friendly.

About ten of us met there on a saturday night, a bit of a reunion, and it was great! The food, while in the main Hungarian, was quite varied as there were other stunning temptations to be had. the service matched the food, it was...More

Double Bay
Located in Sydney’s eastern suburbs, Double Bay is a
one of the city's most beautiful harbour
neighbourhoods. Designer boutiques provide a decadent
shopping experience and dress some of the most
beautiful people in Sydney. Sit down at one of the
open air cafes for a latte or a meal and enjoy the
people-watching. Double Bay was once an exclusive
enclave for an older, elite population, but new

Twenty One (21) Espresso is one of Australia's oldest restaurants, founded in 1958 by John Schiffer - Father and Grandfather to the restaurant's current owners George and Michael. Twenty One was the first restaurant to introduce European style dining to Australia in the form of outdoor seating and also had one of the very first espresso machines - hence the inclusion in the restaurant name. Today, you can find traditional Hungarian and European dishes on the menu, whilst dining in a comfortable and cosy setting with warm and attentive service. The restaurant is open all day every day, should you feel like just popping in for a coffee and cake and to soak in the atmosphere.
