My husband and I were looking forward to a lovely celebratory 30th wedding anniversary dinner which just happened to coincide with Valentines Day at Wild Oak.. On arrival we were greeted by one of the waiting staff ..who throughout the evening provided excellent and friendly service. Sadly..our starter of garlic bread arrived just short of being burnt which was not... More

Wild Oak is one of those places that you can't quite decide whether it's actually great or over-rated. It has a good reputation for the Dandenong hills region and we went with high expectations. Chef Ben Higgs is an award-winning chef, and Wild Oak also has a cooking school so you would expect the food to be outstanding. Wild Oak... More

We went on a Saturday night and it was very quiet. It was a very hot day and the air conditioning wasn't really cutting it and things were a bit sweaty. The wine list is small, but comprehensive - most people will be able to find something they enjoy within their price range. Our initial waiter was a bit timid.... More

WOW!! This restaurant was awesome!! Firstly the service... Our waitress was awesome. Well trained, pleasant & friendly, hell she smiled too.. something that is hard to find today in hospitality! The meals were sensational and the Chefs ought to be congratulated on a top job! My wifes chicken was spot on and my kangaroo was sensational.. couldnt think of anything... More

Went with friends to wild oak for dinner for a birthday celebration last night. The waitress was totally lovely and very helpful! Our meals were very delicious and generous in serving size. It wasn't cheap and although the food and service was great we all felt that the restaurant itself needed some love and care as when you are paying... More

Revamped original building with indoor and outdoor seating. The air conditioning was appreciated but the chairs had seen better days and their lack of substance was made up for by pillows to sit upon. Outdoor eating area was most uninviting and the potential for an outdoor area appears to have been overlooked. The existing area was adjacent to a busy... More

We had dinner here Saturday night with friends and although we enjoyed our night with our friends, we found the food and service to be an underwhelming experience. We have been coming back here for years and have always found everything to be excellent but after last night probably won't be back. Staff although friendly enough very unknowledgable and lacked... Took a friend out for lunch. Food looked amazing on the plate but unfortunately the presentation was the best part. Main was pork belly it was nice but not hot enough and the mash potato was cold. Dessert was lemon meringue pie and it was nice but I actually think my basic homemade one tasted better. For the prices they... More

Lunch at Wild Oak was not a great event, nor was the food great and the restaurant was on the one side dim and dark with the blinds down and on the other there were no blinds and the sun came glaring through. Ambience nil. The menu wasn't the one on the web site which sort of annoyed us because... More
