My hubby and i love Dancing Bear!!! The food here is impeccable and service is great as well. The restaurant and patio area is so relaxing and laid back. This is our go to for a romantic dinner.

My daughter and her family visited my husband and me over Christmas, all the way from Los Angeles. She surprised us with a meal after Christmas at the Dancing Bear Appalachian Bistro. Amazingly, she learned of the restaurant via the internet, and she had no idea that this is one of our favorite restaurants in all the world. We live... More

We really enjoyed our two dinners at the Appalachian Bistro. The first evening, we both had the wildfire relief dinner of chicken pot pie and a very crisp salad. This was a most perfect comfort food meal for a very cold evening. Our second dinner included the cast iron beef tenderloin, potatoes and wonderful roasted vegetables. The steak was perfectly... A very special night requires a very special venue and Dancing Bear Appalachian Bistro was by far the perfect choice. Full disclosure: I didn't recognize nor can I remember anything on the special New Year's Eve menu except "bananas". There were offerings that I never heard of, nor could I pronounce - much to my "sophisticated" wife's amusement. Maybe because... More

We began our meal with a sideboard of small bites of half a dozen items. Our favorite was the Benny Bacon. So tasty!!! We both had a salad. The Caesar was unique in content and presentation and delicious as was the beet salad. For entrees we chose the pistachio crusted Halibut and bacon wrapped scallops. Both excellent but we were... Located in East TN in Townsend, The Dancing Bear Appalachian Bistro is an awesome place to enjoy one's dinner. Although in Dec, the trees are leafless, the site of the Dancing Bear still is impressive. The food is excellent, service is very personable, and sitting around the fire pit making s'mores is hard to beat.

Very interesting combination of Seafood, Steak and Wild game. All items prepared in a unique manner with excellent presentation. Ambience was wonderful dimly lit and woodsy yet elegant. Service was exceptional the hostess and the waiter we're well-dressed, well-mannered and capable. Overall my wife and I thought it was a very nice experience.

What a delightful surprise to have a great meal at the new Appalachian Bistro at Dancing Bear. We dined on a Sunday, they were featuring Sunday Suppers. The evenings suggested meal sounded good; but the added benefit was a portion of the proceeds were going to the Fire Rescue Fund for the City of Gatlinburg. Two of us got it,... More

I recently took my wife to diner for her birthday, and we had an amazing experience. Several months ago, she and I dined there for another birthday diner. On the menu that night, the chef had made creamed kale as one of the main side dishes. She and I loved it, and we really hoped that it would be an... More
