Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

They often close half an hour before their advertised closing time, or 50 minutes as last Sunday, people turn up every Weekend only to be turned away after driving miles, because; " We've been too busy" or "We've been too quiet " It's ridiculous, either...stick to your advertised hours or change them.More

I presume this is the same as the excellent Lord Stones cafe which is a superb starting / finish point for a trick in this wonderful corner of the Moors including the incredible vistas atop Cringle End. Good food, excellent coffee, nice ambience and excellent...service.More

Just back from two nights away , there were 9 of us in total . Three pods and one round house . Cannot fault the accommodation, an enjoyable experience. The problem came as the kitchen had a fault on Friday early evening. No hot food...was available . We were reassured that the problem would be rectified the following morning . Unfortunately it was not . No incline that the evening meals would also be out of action My issue is we were not your normal campers and had booked with the intention of eating in the restaurant and that's why we booked . We did not go equipped to cook on the barbecues. If we had been informed earlier in the day we could of purchased items for the barbecue . On turning up to eat we were only greeted by a message on the door informing all that the kitchen was closed. I feel the establishment could of maybe offered a barbecue alternative as they have the facilities to cook outdoors in front of the restaurant in a lovely covered in area.. All the local pubs, restaurants( within driving distance ) were fully booked so crisps and whatever we had between us had to be consumed. I am aware this was an unforseen circumstance but a little information. Maybe a note pushed under the pods/ round house or even an email informing us would off enabled us to make alternative arrangements. Communication was non existent and unfortunately it impacted on our break away . I do not normally review , but I think it is a point that could be took forward as a company trying to build its business and look at contingency plans moving forward . Thank YouMore

Not worth the money. Advertised poached eggs on sourdough bread. No sourdough served came with brown bread toast. When questioned waitress said they were out of sourdough. Why was this not advised on ordering? Poached eggs like bullets. Other breakfast was a full Yorkshire. Again...served without one of the advertised ingredients missing and again when queried waitress stated they had run out. Why was this not advised on ordering. Portions on the Yorkshire breakfast were small. 4 button mushrooms and a tablespoon of baked beans. Waitress asked if the meal was ok and when told no answered, “very busy morning.” Very disappointing all round.More

Finished a brutal 20 mile training run in preparation for the Hardmoors 55 mile race and was really hungry. Gave them a call at 12.45 Sunday lunchtime and they promised to squeeze us in. We arrived 15 minutes later and the place was rammed with...the staff very busy. It was a beautiful day. To their credit we were seated promptly and in no time were supping much needed hot coffees with our roast beef arriving shortly after. Just a word on the beef, it is locally grown and a speciality cooked to perfection and melt in the mouth. You won't find a better Sunday lunch anywhere. In summary, brilliant attentive staff even on a very busy day amazing food and great hot drinks. Highly recommended.More

We had a really lovely meal at the Belted Bull. I had the flat iron steak and my partner had the Picanha Rump, both cooked to perfection. The kids meals were a decent size and tasty. Service was friendly and efficient. Would recommend.

We stayed in Lordstone and decided to have a meal in the resturant. It was quiet simply the best food I have eaten in such a long time. Our only draw back was that due to covid it was only open the night night we...were there (which is understandable) as we could have quiet happily eaten in there all three night. We are already planning on heading back to the resturant to try something different on the menu. We had the fillet and the beef burger and both were truly mouth watering.More

Visited the Yorkshire Moore’s for a weekend during July. The experience and campsite was riddled with problems from arrival which almost certainly would deter us from staying again or recommending the campsite. Issues: 1: Upon arrival, it was unclear where to check in, upon entering...the cafe the lady (who we can only imagine was the camp manger) was dismissive and unwelcoming, this nature carried on for the rest of our stay, asking questions seemed an inconvenience. 2: We were not informed that all taps were out of service on the campsite. 3: Whilst cars are allowed to be on site for unloading, they are not allowed to stay on site, this was not made clear during booking. Respectfully, this was more of an inconvenience for us due to a small tent. 4: The pitches are small and unclear in terms of spacing, apart from being told you can pitch to the right of your designated post. As a result you are very close to other tents which can consequently be loud- especially not desirable if you have young children. 5: The cafe was expensive for quality (almost £9 for 2 small coffees and a slice of cake) and not something to write home about. The lady at the till also seemed to be dismissive and came across as quite rude, she seemed too busy doing nothing to serve. Strengths 1: The public footpaths and bridle ways are of excellent access with great views to be seen. 2: The majority of staff were friendly and helpful, maintaining COVID-19 business protocols effectively the whole time. 3: The steak from the shop is very good. 4: Toilet facilities were clean. Whilst I personally do not recommended the campsite and cafe, the walks are lovely and parking is free.More

I visited this pub for a hearty Sunday roast after a bracing walk across the Moor. Our food was delicious, perfectly cooked beef with huge Yorkshire puddings and tasty gravy. The staff couldn't have been more helpful. I will definitely return.

We visited here recently one Friday evening. Having waited a few weeks to get the time slot we wanted we expected it to be busy. We were shown into an empty restaurant (not a good sign in my opinion) We were pounced on almost before...we got sat down to ask what we wanted to drink (which I hate), food arrived, and considering the rave reviews I had read I didn't think it lived up to it. Nobody came to ask if we were satisfied (and its not as though it was busy as the full tables matched the front of house staff - 3), eventually a member of staff came and asked us if we wanted more drinks and to see the dessert menu which we did. After sitting there for approx another 15 minutes with nobody coming back we got up and went to the desk to pay. Only then did they ask if we were satisfied (which we weren't) but they were too busy checking their mobile phones and chatting to care about the customers. Doubt we will return.More

We were 2 groups who stayed in the pods for a long w.e, the smell around there is disgusting from what i assume is the tank or drains. The staff in the bar are not very polite, we ordered drinks and she took a phone...call and walked off without saying anything! rude Breakfast after we ordered they informed us they had no black pudding or mushrooms and when it arrived they didn't add anything to compensate when we still paid full price, when we asked the waitress seem surprised we asked about it? Also no full veggie breakfast and why arn't dogs allowed in the cafe for such a place Nobody in the shop to pass comments onto when we checked out and also although we were in a 4 birth pod we were charged a extra £15 for a second set of bedding. Nice location but needs to improve before i go backMore

Have not been to Lordstones for a while so after a nice moorland walk thought we would drop in. We wish we had not bothered, the milk was off & floated on top of our tea which we pointed out to the staff but were...told "the milk was fresh that day & was a little fatty". We also had a bacon bun each which was average not up to the standard they used to be. We spend most of our time eating out at restaurants cafe's etc but will not be returning here for sour milk & poor staff. This is the first time in years I have not left a tip at home or abroad. My tip to all is avoid this place they need to get back the values they used to have.More

Arrived Friday afternoon for a 2 night stay in one of the yurts. Nice greeting and found the place tidy and clean. Had a very nice dinner at the resteraunt on Friday night. Then off to the yurt again. As it was now getting darker...tried to turn on all lights and found the fairy lights not working so a little dissapointed. Not wanting to walk back to resteraunt did not report. Put down sofa bed (which is actually a rather uncomftable futon) and found a used pillow case behind it. They need to make sure cleaners are checking behind/under things and checking fixtures before each guest. So Saturday morning no hand towel working in toilet block. Also no one had emptied bins on campsite so they were getting rather full Saturday night a lordstones bbq.. the bbq itself was lovely and the live band amazing. However the campsite was booked way over capacity for the facilities and camping block toilets opened for all during event 3 toilets only. This meant on leaving the event having to go make them aware of no toilet roll in the loos. They made no cleaning of the loos that night. Coming down to the loos Sunday morning and they had still not been cleaned and restocked with paper! Went to use facilities inside bar and told them no loo roll. So lady closed the shop where lots of people were waiting for drinks to go restock. Restocked loo roll but still no cleaning! Overall if you are going to have an event of that size the toilet block should be checked straight after event and restocked and should have been cleaned first thing in the morning ready for the campers use. By Sunday morning the bins both in the campsite and around the toilet block were overflowing. Other than these issues I found the site very nice and staff friendly but to hold big events you have work to doMore
