Service was slow when I was there for a lunch on a weekday at 2 p.m. Sooooo, slow. Doesn't matter now. Fire closed the place down. According to news reports, the fire broke out during business hours while people were eating. Talk about HOT food....

Usually great food but last night was bad. The chicken was way undercooked and the the beef steak was full of fat.

Needed a place to eat in the way to Houston. Had stopped at the old Mexican inn on the last pass thru but this time wanted something new. Chips were crispy and the salsa was spicy with a perfect sting to the tongue. Great flavor. Ain't no Pace picante here. We ordered the El Mayor, the talapia Pacifico, and a... More

Being on a road trip, we asked a lady at the Comfort Inn to recommend a good Mexican restaurant. She told us about Don Jose's "down on the right". Well, it was a good ways down on the right! But it was worth it. Not too impressive outside, but our waitress, Clara, was so friendly and helpful that we relaxed.... More

We were here on July 4 & stopped in for a bite. This is definitely a family run restaurant which I noted. So the drinks were a tad late but she apologized which was nice. She brought chips & salsa & we ordered the fajitas & chicken enchiladas. They arrived in a timely manner & were good. She also mentioned... More

Since this was the only Mexican restaurant open on July 4th, we decided to give it another try. However, we should have known better. Dined with family before fireworks show in town. The service is horrible, waited 10 minutes for drinks, then did not get all of them. Food took over 45 minutes to reach our table, after asking waitress... More

Being right across the street from one of the better Mexican restaurants in the area doesn't help this place. Their prices are about the same as their competitor across the street and their entrees taste about the same but they do not have orange dip which is a huge downer for me. But, on the bright side this is the... More

I got a burrito, and a frozen store bought would have been better. Gary got chicken enchiladas and was just as displeased. Not a spot we will be visiting again.

This has been our fav Mexican food spot for years. I could honestly feel up just on the chips and salsa which are free its simply the best. Sometimes the service can be slow but other then that we haven't had any real complaints. Its worth a try
