The BBQ here is the best meal served. I opted for chicken friend chicken, green beans, salad, and mashed potatoes. The green beans contained real bacon and salt which added to the flavor. The potatoes contained skin and were from real potatoes. Chicken fried chicken was crisp on outside and tender moist on the inside. Salad was fresh lettuce. Service... More

I went in to get some take-out. There is a separate entrance near the back of the building to get take-out from. So I was directed to the take-out counter. The gals working the take-out counter were very friendly and helpful. I hadn't been to this place before so I asked what where the more popular meals. I went for... More

Red Hot and Blue is one of the best bbq places in Dallas. Ribs, bbq chicken, sliced beef, pulled pork, and sausage is the tastiest and most tender meat with juicy flavor. The okra was soft and the beans were too sweet, but the potato salad and corn on the cob was spot on along with large drink glasses.

We had previously eaten at the Plano RH&B, but because we were in the area, I brought my wife here for an early Saturday dinner. Upon entering, we were greeted and seated immediately. We each ordered the Eastern Tennessee Triple ($16.99), where you can choose three of about seven different types of barbecued meat. My wife chose the St. Louis... More

The meat was good but cold. The sauces were fine but pretty much tasted the same to me. Our group of 8 were served quickly at lunch and we appreciated that. I liked the side dishes best. I ordered collard greens and beans. Both great. The corn bread was good too. The platters are not a bad value but I... More

We were in Dallas for a tour of the city, this restaurant was selected by the tour company. They served nice size portions. The wait staff was friendly. We had a sandwich, fries, and, slaw.. The dessert was very good cobbler with ice cream, the pecan cobbler was the best.

First we chose the catfish fingers with fries, we ate the whole plate. The friendly waiter advised the Tennessee Triple which was a very good idea. Again we ate everything. As European tourists we are not accustomed to the big sized plates so we very often took the remainings from other restaurants in a doggy bag. But when we get... More

My grandson and I met my daughter here for lunch today. I have been here several times, but never had the turkey burger and OH MY, it was SO good! This will be my go to place for a turkey burger from now on. It was so juicy and flavorful. The sweet potato fries were great also.

Description
Red Hot and Blue is a full-service, casual-themed restaurant chain and caterer featuring delicious award-winning ribs, Memphis-style barbeque, smoked wings, and Southern sides and desserts. The atmosphere is steeped in legendary and contemporary blues music and delivers a large dose of Southern hospitality in a fun and entertaining dining environment. History: The first Red Hot and Blue restaurant opened in Arlington, Virginia in 1988, started by Lee Atwater, Don Sundquist and friends. Don Sundquist was from Memphis and served in the House of Representatives and as governor of Tennessee. The late Lee Atwater was an amateur blues musician and political figure that managed George H.W. Bush's successful race for the presidency. These men were friends who longed for authentic Memphis-style barbeque and great blues music. Unable to find that combination anywhere in the Washington, DC area they decided the only way to get it done was to open a restaurant of their own. The Memphis-style barbeque chain celebrated its 25th Anniversary in 2013 by partnering with a charitable organization at 24 different restaurant locations. The yearlong celebration culminated in the presentation of thousands of dollars in donations to local charities. The Name: The name, "Red Hot and Blue" is taken from the title of D.J. Dewey Phillip's radio show that that aired on WHBQ-AM in Memphis, Tennessee in the 1950s. This radio show launched the careers of Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis and Johnny Cash and broadened the audience for artists such as BB King, Muddy Waters, Robert Cray and Rufus Thomas. Red Hot & Blue Dine-In, Take-Out and Catering. Hickory-smoked Memphis-style BBQ, Ribs, Wings, Beef Brisket, Smoked Chicken, Seafood, Full-service Bar, in a Family-friendly atmosphere with a heapin' helpin' of Southern Hospitality!
