If you are craving for meat, this is the place to go. Oh, and make sure you go with a big appetite. I had the all you can eat. I should have gone their for lunch but I went there for dinner. I would have probably eaten more at lunch. This is a great place to go with the family.... More

In flying from Australia to the USA, my family and I ensured that we stopped overnight in Austin purposely to visit Salt Lick BBQ and what a great decision this was. Only a 25 min drive out from Austin we headed out there for dinner. We were lucky as it wasn't that busy and we were ushered straight and past... More

Perfect setting for lunch on a beautiful Texas "spring" day in February. Ate inside for table service but would definitely get take out so to sit outside next time. Be sure to bring cash and your appetite!

We did take-out this time and it was as good as ever. Dining in is a fun experience, but take-out is just fine. The only problem is the distance and the wait time, but that is all forgotten when you taste the brisket, ribs, and sausage. I love their coleslaw and kosher dill pickles as well! Can't say enough -... More

I had heard about the Salt Lick for years and my husband had gone with friends about 5 years ago- he had great memories and could not wait to take me there. We arrived at 7:30 on a Saturday night and the wait was 3 hours. We decided to come back for lunch on Sunday. That worked much better- there... More

I can't add anything that has not already been said. If you want the REAL DEAL Texas brisket, ribs, chicken and sides this is the place. Plain and simple. You simply wont find a better meal or a more classic place to eat. So go eat!!

This restaurant used to have great meat even though the sides were mediocre. Well on a belated Valentine lunch getaway, we had asked for the ribs to be replenished to be a little more well done as they were red and chewy. They came back the same. We brought them home and cooked them in the oven. For the price... More

We've eaten here a number of times in the last several years. A week ago, 6 of us traveled an hour to eat at Salt Lick BBQ. I knew from past visits here that the star (for me) is the Smoked Sausage. This visit, I ordered the full-slab Baby Back Rib dinner and 3 pounds of Smoked Sausage to go.... More

We arrived at this oasis in the middle of nowhere and were dazzled by the amount of vehicles in the parking lot. This place was definitely hopping on a warm Saturday night. The mass of people in multiple lines was a shock, bit we joined right in. It's pretty good BBQ, but what made the night was the festive atmosphere... More

On a Saturday afternoon in mid February, we arrived at 4:30 pm to a crowded parking lot and a 1 hour 45 minute wait. We were, however, prepared. We had a cooler of cold beer, and no other plans for the evening. We spent the time on the peaceful, shaded waiting patio, chatting with the friendly and interesting clientele and... More
