Visited with three friends. We all had steak, and it was delicious!! I had the sirloin and it was plentiful. It came with a salad and homemade mashed potatoes with a warm biscuit on the side. True TX steakhouse that feels like a saloon. Will definitely go back.

The Star Café is our choice of places to eat in the Fort Worth Stockyards. It's a "hole-in-the-wall" place with a saloon type décor and a laid back atmosphere. The waitresses are friendly and very efficient and the food is great. Everything from their burgers to steaks has been great. They have a juke box where you can choose music... More

A friend recommended this place, otherwise - we would have walked right by it. It looks like an old saloon on the inside. Such neat history! The food was good! Burger was yummy and onion rings were some of the best I've ever had!! Hubby had a small t-bone - which took up his entire place! It was cooked to... More

Wonderful staff, terrific food, great atmosphere. Feels so much authentic than the "tourist attractions" a block away near the Rodeo and Stockyards.

We went on a Sunday night at around 7:00pm. The place was not full and we were able to sit down right away and order. They had a friendly staff. I had the chicken fried steak. The flavor was good, but the meal could have been hotter (temperature). It came with salad that was OK and a baked potato. We... More

Okay, truth be told took a side trip from a conference in Dallas to find a great Fort Worth steak house. Visited the big names first, seemed loud, rowdy and long waits. So walked around town and found this great place. We ordered everything from a t-bone to a toasted cheese sandwich. Each and every item done to our instruction,... More

Flew in from Phila. and asked about lunch. What a great surprise, had a Filet Mignon on the menu and had to try it. Have to tell the truth, it was the best filet I have ever eaten. What a way to start a vacation with family.

I have a hard time deciding between a burger or a chicken friend steak, because they are both great. But it's almost always the chicken friend steak, because it's better than I can get anywhere at Granbury where I live. The friendly folks who work there and the looks of the place makes you feel like you're at a little... More
