Great little restaurant in the Stockyards that serves excellent food with excellent service. The elk tenderloin was simply amazing!

I have a never had such a terrible experience at a restaurant of this supposed caliber. I was with a group of 12 ladies who had traveled in to Fort Worth for a birthday trip for a friend. One of the highlights of the weekend was to eat at Lonesome Dove Bistro. Due to inclement weather we were running behind... More

This was a birthday dinner for my wife. Arrived a little early and the place was packed so we had a short wait at the bar. We were seated in a room that was dominated by a large party which made it difficult for conversation but made for good people watching. Our waiter was just the right amount of friendly and... More

Do make reservations if you want a 7 pm-8pm dinner. The evening started off with a humourous gaffe. I ordered a Rob Roy and my wife ordered a Cuba Libra. We also ordered an appetizer sampler consisting of two each of as many appetizers as we wanted. We ordered three (rabbit-rattlesnake sausage, lamb lollipops and divers scallops). I was a... More

Went here with my cousin for dinner, but I can see it being suited perfectly for a lovely date night (or special occasion) spot as well (we had a great girls night out here.) It's upscale, incredibly delicious, and has the classiest western atmosphere I've ever seen (trust me, I know it sounds like an oxymoron.) Really is a must... More

Foodie heaven! I did not expect anything this refined in the Stockyards area. The food was to die for! I tend to eat light, so I did not have anything but the entree'. The elk loin was perfectly prepared, tender, juicy and flavorful. Served with Hen of the Woods mushrooms, flash-fried swiss chard and candied grapes (with an ancho chili... More

Lonesome Dove is unique in Fort Worth for several reasons. First, the variety of the entrees is unlike any other re3staurant in Fort Worth. Tim Love has created a western cuisine with very sophisticated touches (seasonings, sides, etc.) and I have never been disappointed in the quality of the combinations. He has actually morphed a traditional Texas steakhouse and a... More

I have been here three times now and they always surprise me with their excellent food and hospitality. If you are in for a great dinner and like to enjoy all kinds of food, this is the right place. Here you will experience the “real” Texas hospitality while sitting in a “country style” restaurant and enjoying “perfectly balanced” dishes.

This is by far one of THE BEST PLACES in Ft Worth. The menu is fun and different, super fancy meat and potatoes. I absolutely love it...haha. Chef Love has some great spots to try out and this is definitely one of them. The tomahawk is the perfect meal to impress your date!
