About
Named after the 200m wide meteorite crater that sits at its heart, Domaine du Météore creates wines from another dimension. At the entrance of the Haut Languedoc National Park, our vineyards span the renowned schist terroir of Faugères and St Chinian. On selected summer evenings, we invite a small number of guests to join us for a vine-side gastronomic journey. Begin with canapes and aperitifs at the caveau before a sunset walk through the olive groves and vines, taking in views of the Caroux mountains and the Mediterranean. We'll dine at the foot of the crater itself, on long tables beneath the trees, adjacent to the vines, where the breeze carries the scent of wild thyme, fennel and cistus. Each of the evening's 6 courses will be created to complement our range of wines, using ingredients grown biodynamically at the domaine, foraged nearby or sourced from local organic growers and cooked over a wood fire stoked with the prunings from our vines.

We were staying in Pezanas and had heard very good reports about this exciting and ethereal dining experience - we were certainly not disappointed! This was a gastronomic and oenological theatre production that cannot be replicated on this planet and is completely unique. From the moment we arrived at the Domaine for the tasting, the welcome was warm and professional but fun and relaxed. We tasted an array of delicious proprietary Faugeres wines and canapes before being invited to walk down through the vines with their stunning views to the crater gouged out by a meteor 10,000 years ago. Nestled on the rear rim, the rustic kitchen and three tables of eight were really charming with definitely an ethereal feel as you gazed out over the vines in this celestial creation. Chef Andy and Sommelier Maria proceeded to serve a glorious and mouth watering tasting menu of six plates and a selection of the best wines from the Domaine. The constantly changing menu is both innovative and creative and Andy personally serves the plates to you and explains the concept. This is not a five star restaurant with the accompanying puffery and exaggerated bill but more of a five star dining experience under the stars which is also great fun and in a totally relaxed atmosphere - the two are very different. Book soon as once the word gets out, tables will be a rarity!

We are delighted that you had such a great evening and thank you for your supportive words. We do indeed try and give our guests an authentic taste of our unique terroir in both the food and the accompanying wines and dining in the crater gives a special and unique atmosphere. We very much appreciate your recommendation and it would be our pleasure to welcome you once again.

This was an amazing and unique experience from beginning to end.
We assembled in the winery, a small group of dinners, for aperitifs (rosé from the domaine) and superb canapés served the the chef Nico and Jacqui. Conversation flowed and we then walked 10 minutes through the vines with views over the plain to the Mediterranean and down to the Meteore crater
The huge crater is said to be formed by a Meteore 10,000 years ago! It has vines growing within it and outdoor tables overlooking the vines. The star of the show was the amazing food prepared by chef Nico. He produced several courses each with it’s own matching glass of wine to accompany it. The food is on a level your would expect in Michelin starred restaurants and not what you might expect in a Meteore crater!
As the sun went down and the stars started to twinkle above, conversation flowed and the food just kept coming.
It was fun to walk back the way we came with torches provided for a coffee in the caveau and the chance to buy a bottle of domaine wine before heading home happy and full.
Altogether a unique and memorable experience. And amazing value also. Bravo Nico and Jacqui and Domaine du Meteore!

You hear a lot about the experience economy. Well, this is a fantastic example. A wonderful dinner in an informal setting in a huge crater planted with vines and only the stars overhead. You walk to the crater - don't forget flat, closed shoes - after an apero and canapes in the wine cellar. The wonderfully gifted chef who prioritizes the local produce and aromas serves you a menu of several courses, beautifully balanced, all even more delicious than they sound on the little menu you can use to keep track. The bio wine pairing is equally delicious and service very friendly and informative. At the moment only about 12 guests per night so don't expect to just rock up.
Highlights: tomato salad with basil cream, pine nut granola and garnished with a light tomato water/stock, an egg and leek dish with a 63-degree egg where both white and yolk were perfect and a gorgeous piece of local beef

This is a very rare and unique restaurant/winery in an idyllic setting hard to replicate anywhere else. Our entire group were blown away by the quality of food, wine, friendly staff and the overall experience. They only accept a smaller group of people every evenings which makes everything feel much more intimate and genuine.
Thank you to our waitress Maria and chef Andrew for a memorable evening! We’re already planning to come back next year :)

After an exciting journey on windy roads through the vineyards and dense green oak forests of the back country, anticipating a wild-boar to zoom out from the undergrowth at any moment, we alighted in a beautiful wine Domaine near Aigue-Vive.
We were greeted by a glass of wine and told there is a 1 km walk to the actual crater where dinner will take place (woops - high heeled shoes not a good idea!). The setting was so dramatic with views of the Pyrenees, the sea in the far distance, the vineyards all around, as we wound our way to the crater, that it felt like by the time we got there, a just reward would await us. As it certainly did.
A few tables with a stunning views over the crater, solar lights, bird song... it all felt like this surprise setting was 'just for us'......This was accompanied by a gastronomic journey where everything was so well balanced and so sophisticated, it took our breath away. The chef Andrew whom you can see 'creating' on the spot, has put together a menu where every course compliments the last matching wines from the domaine which were all excellent. An unforgettable experience in an unforgettable setting.
Can't wait to go back and bring some foody friends to indulge their taste buds.

Just perfect, unusual setting an incredibly gifted chef, a set menus which showed an exceptionally skilful balance of flavours, using the very best of local or home produced produce. Very interesting Estate wine, some fine. Certainly worth our four hour drive.
Cannot wait to return.

An extraordinary experience in a delightful environment, amidst a pretty vineyard nestling in the hills to the north of Beziers. The food is exceptional, this was fine dining with a personal touch as the owner joined us for a tasting. The wines were just as exciting, with a twist in the tail at the end of the meal. I won't spoil the fun but the best is saved for last so reserve a little appetite if you wish to do it justice. Local produce and great value, too. I loved it and can't wait to go back!
Une experience vraiment exceptionnel - je la conseil :)

We live locally so have been to most of the best or unique restaurants nearby and this is now one of our favourites for those who love the outdoors in a peaceful unique setting, slowly enjoying several courses with friends and interesting travelling Europeans. It truly feels like you have escaped to another world in the vines for the evening. We will be regulars and highly recommend the experience.

Even better than last year with the new chef Andy creating some stunning dishes ( had worked in Moro in london one of our favourite restaurants). A humble lettuce was transformed into something unforgettable and the duck and final fig pudding so delicious. Paired with wonderful wines and as much Rosé as we wanted with canapés to start. The guy next to us was having a series of vegetarian dishes and smiling all the way. Met people from all over the world and walked back under the stars. Heard that they are about to launch a pink champagne with a limited number of bottles made from the grapes in the crater. Will have our name down for lots of those !!!

A new chef, Andy, has revitalised the menu and matched with excellent wines, a night under the stars dining in the crater reached new heights last week.
In a gorgeous setting, with great service from Marie, the Swedish waitress and a warm welcome from the management, a good time was had by all. A really special venue and a treat for the taste buds. Highly recommended for those with a discerning palette

Even better than last year with such a talented new chef. His pudding was to die for and the mulled wine filled chocolates - amazing. Found the new Le Météore rosé delicious but the lyrides blanc is our new favourite faugeres wine - like a burgundy !! Kind that you offered one of the guests with a hip problem a lift back up in your van whilst the rest of us walked under the light of the stars. Great that you can take some wine home in your car after.
We will come back this week for one of your new bee tours.

Have visited both the cellar for a tasting and the crater dinner experience and I truly recommend both. Love the wines and the warm welcome by the staff and the dinner was well organized, the food was amazing as well. To have dinner in a crater where a real meteorite has struck was indeed a unforgettable experience! Well worth the price.

If you are looking for something out-of-the-box in terms of location and searching to satisfy your discerning Epicurean wonts, then look no further than the Domaine de Météore’s crater dinners! Not only do you find yourself sitting in an actual meteor crater to eat, the food is (excuse the pun!) out of this world! A treat to the taste buds, each gastronomic course is paired with the most perfect Météore white, rosé or red wine. They present an ever-changing menu, but our evening started with two exquisite oysters - one smoked and one gin and tonic flavour - and then to a tomato minestrone that freshly-prepared your taste receptors for the following seared asparagus, and then the melt-in-the-mouth beef and concluding on a rhubarb and cream high. All eaten as the sun goes down and the stars twinkle more brightly than you’ve ever seen them, in the dark, countryside skies. This is not just dinner out, this is a life experience…
