We were on our way to Dallas Sam from Houston TX. We wanted some seafood b-sides the usual Pappadeaux's. While at Walmart in Cypress Texas the cashier suggested Hempstead steak and Seafood. We went the building need a makeover and maybe a few decorations inside however is out of this world. The portions are large the catfish doesn't have that... More

Good food and good service. Little bit pricey but not too terribly bad. All of the fried items are good and they have a few Asian dishes (fried rice, egg rolls, etc) that are pretty good. Many locals go here.

Local restaurant that specializes in seafood and steaks. All the seafood is great along with the chicken fried steak. T-bones and Ribeyes...Not so much. Great value and quantity for the money.

This restaurant was not what you would expect to find in a small town. Don;t let the decor fool you, the service and food is great. I had a seafood platter consisting of shrimp, oysters and scallops that where some of the best I've ever had. Portions are good and will not leave you hungry. The dinner always has a... More

Great catfish. I usually get the grilled catfish, but fried catfish is good too. A great choice of home made side dishes are available.

My husband and I just ate lunch here and had one of the best meals ever...poboy fried oyster sandwich and I had the grilled mahi and vegetables! The food was cooked perfectly, we were waited on and served quickly with a sweet smile. We will definitely return.

We were in a party of about 20. Waitress clearly overwhelmed. No help from any other staff. Took order, brought salads, she yelled out dressings at the front of the tables. Forgot my potato, finally got it at the end of the meal. No real butter, sour cream in a tube, no bread, saltines. No water. No busing of dirty... More

We ate dinner here while staying in nearby Waller. It was a bit late when we got there but they made us feel welcome. Wide variety of choices even on the kids menu. My favorite was the fried okra. Would recommend if you are in the area.

The food is good and the service is acceptable - fast. All the seafood is good. Stay away from the hamburger steak. It is a pre-made hamburger patty.
