We were travelling from Devon to the Lake District and booked a one night stay. We were not disappointed at this small but well kept site - from the friendly arrival, good size level pitches, very clean well kept showers and separate toilet block with...washing up facilities. An amazing on site cafe and shop and all in the grounds of a fantastic pub, excellent service with good well priced food. A children’s play area and an interesting aviary in the gardens. If required they have several camping pods for hire. I would highly recommend this siteMore

I've always been a fan of a well-kept Bush and this one is Immaculate. The gardens are glorious - a lovely place to while away a few hours in the sunshine. The kids play area is excellent and there is even an aviary, if you...like your birds with feathers. Matt keeps a great selection of beers - the best Butcombe I've had in ages - and the food is good hearty pub grub. Tasty, plentiful and good value. This is a proper local that Matt and Karen have worked hard to make centre of the community - and it shows. Definitely worth visiting if you're in the area.More

We initially booked a pitch in the attached campsite and decided to eat in the pub when we arrived. Friendly welcoming staff and a good choice of real ale on draught, the food was delicious and good portion size ( I can definitely recommend the...8oz Stilton Burger!) The campsite is small, quiet and beautifully kept with a loverly looking cafe attached that unfortunately we didn’t get to try! We would definitely stay here again and would recommendMore

I simply could not believe it when I came to the old bush, me and my boyfriend stayed for a long weekend and there is no bad words I could say about it! We stayed in a cabin in the pub gardens and we now...say it’s the best place we’ve ever stayed! The camping pod was perfectly clean and tidy, we didn’t bring a duvet and the girls behind the counter checking us in were more than accommodating! Tv and lovely warm heater, tea and coffee facilities it really was amazing and have recommended to many of my friends/ family to go ever since! The views were unreal and going for a drink in the pub with the loveliest staff was a bonus! Would recommend 100000/10More

We telephoned the Old Bush to book for 5 adults and 3 children on the last minute and were not too hopeful being the last Saturday before Christmas. However they managed to get us two tables next to each other near the bar area. As...I am a wheelchair user I did encounter some difficulty upon entering through the front door as there is a step down into the dining area. The people dining at the entrance kindly moved their chairs to allow us entry so there was no real issue. Not perfect but manageable. I should note there is also an entrance from the beer garden but steps make it less attractive to tackle in a wheelchair. Ok for prams though I think. Once inside we were shown to our tables and we ordered our drinks at the bar. Then a member of staff took our food orders at our tables. A good selection of drinks are available as well as an extensive menu, with vegetarians like myself well catered for. The restaurant was quite busy as expected but we didn't have to wait long for our food to arrive. It was very good with everybody satisfied with their meals (Even the kids!) I can't say the pub is suitable for wheelchairs though as there is no Accessible toilet. I was able to use the toilet with help standing as my wheelchair would not fit through the door or cubicles.. On leaving the restaurant via the way we came in the manager moved the table and chairs nearest the door to give us more space to manoeuvre which was greatly appreciated. . Despite the minor issue of access i would definitely return with my family and friends as the atmosphere is relaxed and friendly. And so good of them to find us tables at such short notice on the run up to Christmas.More

Good freshly prepared food. Everything we had was really nice Faggotts, lasagne and delicious gammon. Try and he marmalade bread and butter pudding. I really enjoyed it. Good ambiance. Warm and comfortable. Great staff from bar to waiter/waitress to manager. Interesting place. Well priced for...the good quality food. Would recommend. Will return. Thank you.More
