Very quiet visit on a Friday afternoon. Owner was very friendly and the food was great. Will be visiting again soon.
Probably very busy on Friday and Saturday nights but the lunch time deal on a Friday is well worth it.

Came across this restaurant without any previous experience and without hearing anything about it. Food was excellent. I had Keftedes, (cant guarantee spelling) which are lamb meat balls and Kleftiko which is slow roasted lamb. Meal was £14.95 for 2 courses. Service was good, efficient without being pushy or fussy. My partner had ice cream for sweet which came with a small quantity of chopped fruits, melon, plum satsuma and pomegranate seeds - nice touch.

We visited the Agora for dinner to celebrate our 32nd wedding anniversary and tbh the full dining experience was faultless.
Warm welcome on arrival.
G&T and a Mythos whilst we perused the menu which is pretty expensive.
We settled for the hot mezze sharing starter & bread and then followed up with our mains of Govic ( slow cooked beef pieces in a fabulous sauce ) and meat balls , both dishes were accompanied with rice and vegetables and both were spot on ... really that good but the beef was the best.
We had no space for deserts so finished off dinner with some cracking coffee.
The waitresses were lovely and the manager / owner a real gent. I do say though that full credit should go to the kitchen staff as they absolutely smashed it !!
Absolutely no hesitation in recommending the Agora and can't wait to dine here again.

Had booked and arrived on time and shown to a table of 4 against the wall. First impressions were how close the tables were but we were seated and the drinks orders were quickly taken and brought to the table. Effes Draft in a frosted glass so a good start here !! They have a special offer on weekdays when you can have any 2 courses for £16.95. WE shared a starter of Borec and Hummus. The Borec lacked flavour and the Hummus could have been improved with a little more oil and lemon, and served with Pita bread would have been better than the Focaccia type bread we were served. I know that this combination is served sometimes especially as a sandwich. We both had the Chicken Hydra which was served with rice and the portion was very generous, especially on the offer. It was enjoyable but I did not pick up much garlic or onions. We did clear our plates so certainly no reason the complain. An excellent Turkish coffee served beautifully was for me sadly, the highlight. It was a toss up for me to give 3 or 4 stars but overall great service, tables a little tight and food ok. Will feel compelled to go a again in the near future to see if this was a one off as there are many good reviews.

The seafood, the service and the atmosphere never fail to be wonderfully satisfying here. The mussels and prawn starter is rich and so very moreish; the sea bass with feta and spinach is delicate and delicious, and the staff are conscientious, (v covid safe) and polite and friendly. Always a pleasure to dine here, thankyou to all the staff.

13th at 6pm.
Having looked at the agora on the reviews we thought we would push the boat out and have a really nice meal.
The restaurant was warm and busy and we were seated promptly. The waiting staff were attentive but not pushy.
We orded the cold meze which came with fairly small portions and nice soft bread. It was enjoyable but not superb.
I ordered the tomato and aubergine stew which lacked a bit of flavour and came with white rice.
My wife ordered vegetarian moussaka as we are both non meat eaters. She tucked in but to our dismay it was lamb so called the floor manager over.I explained we were non meat eaters but my wife did not want to cause embarrassment and said I would be ok as I had eaten half of my food and didnt want to eat sperately. The floor manager said he would replace it and said sorry then offered me the dish so it wouldn't be wasted.
Again I explained I was a non meat eater and his attitude seemed to be one of lack of care and understanding.
Food came within 10 mins but by this time I had finished my food so sat watching my wife eat her meal for 20 mins.
When the bill came I asked for a good will gesture off the bill but was told by the manger it was not policy to do this.
I asked if it was policy to serve meat to vegetarians and to let people sit with no food for 25 mins.I said if it was you what would you do,he said just accept it!As an attitude this was really unhelpful and by this time we were late for the theatre, but he said he had apologised so that was that.
A free drink was offered but I was driving and late.
£4 was taken off the bill which was an insult.
So i won't be going back in a hurry which is a shame as the experience we had was poor and costed about £45.
Maybe a look at floor manager training in customer expectations would be useful, as this fell far short of our expectations.
I would appreciate a reply but difficult to contact the restaurant privately as there is no email address available.
You go out for the experience and hope to have a lovely experience but not in this case.

Had a meal many times in the past and has always been nice. Decided to try a takeaway to celebrate our anniversary. We ordered 2 starters and 2 main meals which were absolutely delicious! Good size portions and extremely delicious. We went to collect the food and didn’t have to wait at all.
The staff are always so nice and friendly I would definitely recommend supporting this restaurant as you won’t be disappointed.
Look forward to when we can go to the restaurant again with friends 😀

We've eaten here so many times, particularly over the pandemic because they did takeaway and we can't always get a babysitter for meals out. The food is always great, and there's a decent range for vegetarians. I'm a particular fan of the spanakopita and my husband likes the moussaka but we've eaten lots of the dishes and they are all amazing.

I have to say that this review should be added as five reviews as I’ve been to the Agora at least that many times in the last 8 months or so.
The service is excellent from the warm greeting on the way in to friendly personal good bye.
The attention at the table is super
The food is quality , fresh, tasty and well delivered .The portion sizes are perfect.
A super little primotivo red wine I found to be a delight and complemented my meals perfectly.
Everything you would want from a hard working family run restaurant .
Consistently of a height standard over my visits .
Price ? I didn’t even look it was worth every penny.
Thank you for making my evenings perfect

Amazing meal for my mothers birthday. Fantastic range of gluten free options, including being served gluten free bread with the starter. Such tasty food couldn’t fault it. We will definitely be back!

We ordered a takeaway for new years eve and we were super excited to try this restaurant. The food was absolutely lovely and the staff were so friendly when we came to pick up the food.
We ordered a hot mezze for 2, lamb keltiko, chicken hydra and baklava for pudding. The star of the show were the main courses, flavourful chicken and tender lamb, absolutely lovely! The starter was a good selection of items and I was a big fan of the feta filo parcels.
Would recommend!!

The best thing about this restaurant was the ultra-friendly service. We felt welcomed as if we were friends. There was a wide menu choice, and the food was tasty and wonderfully hot when it arrived at the table. We enjoyed our meal out a great deal.

What a lovely place. We arrived to an obviously popular busy restaurant having managed to secure a table. Both couples had one sharing hot meze and one cold sharing meze. They were fantastic and a good way to sample some of the starters. We then had Stifado, Mousakka and Lamb with Spinach with some side dishes. All were exceptional. We finished with Greek Yoghurt, Fruit and Honey and Baklava. The Baklava was the best we have ever tasted, even our holidays to Greece. With a bottle of wine and a few beers the bill for 4 came to £175. Service was great. The owner being particularly keen to ensure we were happy with everything. It will definitely be a regular venue for us.

Can’t fault this place at all, staff were welcoming and attentive from the minute we walked in, the food was hot, fresh and delicious. Highly recommend the Hot meat meze for 2 perfect when you can’t decide from all the delicious items on the menu, also lovely cold mythos and a frosted glass just reminded us of being in Greece itself, all that was missing was the sun, sand and sea it was perfect. Will most definitely be back here again.
