Birraporetti's is a lovely restaurant. I loved the atmosphere and the food was tasty. They have a nice selection of spirits as well. Only down side was the smoky air later in the night. I am not sure if it was because of the shift with the added lounge singers.

Although I have enjoyed the Sunday jazz brunch a couple of times before theatre matinees, I took a friend to Birraporetti's for a pre-theatre birthday dinner last night with the opposite results. I made a reservation with enough time for us not to be rushed. The last time I did this, we chose from the pre-theatre menu, and the food... More

My friends and I went for a last minute dinner and to ring in the new year. There was an incredible jazz band that played until after midnight. It was amazing. I had salmon cooked to perfection! A to die for crab cake, grilled asparagus and of course pasta. It all tasted so fresh. My friend had Spinach fettuccine Alfredo... More

Every year we come to Birraporetti's for lunch before we take the kids to see Houston Ballet's Nutcracker. We love the great selection of food and beverage. We've also dined here before going to a show. This place is a great location & you can walk to most venues in the theater district after your meal. We are always able... More

Six of us ate here Friday December 23rd before the 7:30 PM Nutcracker performance. We were seated in the "downstairs" dining room right on time, and that's the last thing that went right during the visit. The waitstaff couldn't decide who would be waiting our table; we had three different people introduce themselves, but it took forever for one of... More

This is a beautiful restaurant for dinner before or after the theater. We stopped for dinner before as we have done previously. Service was good. The chicken parmigiana was absolutely not palatable. I was very disappointed to pay $18 for something with that taste. The small suburban restaurants do a better job. The breading was like a hard crust and... More

I have been here many times. Last few years food improved. It is nice to hear good jazz music while you are dining. Waitress who is college student (Assal) was great. I hope she will be a successful in the future her business attitude was very good. I wish their food had better seasoning. It is still good though and... More

I ordered a salad - not a highlight. My husband and daughter ordered pasta and crab and seemed to enjoy it more than the salad. Location is great, especially before a play or symphony, etc, service very good and fast.

If you want to sample some of the culinary capabilities of a Houston institution...enjoy the smaller portions on their lunch menu. Fantastic gulf shrimp with jalapeño fettuccine. Great presentation and the taste....mmmmm. Perhaps a broader wine selection offering but that's just me. Keep it up guys. Looks like I'm in on a secret.
