America's is a natural romantic eatery in the evening. But Brunch at America's is a special event. Very broad selection of appetizers, salads, vegetables, roasted pig, roast beef, tenderloin, shrimp, empanadas omelets and waffles and great desserts. Drinks offered below $4.00 and the Mojitos and Bloody Marys were excellent. Service friendly and excellent. Self and Valet parking. Interior design is... More

When I visited America's, two years ago, I said that the churasco was kind of the highlight of my trip. I'm so happy to say that two years later things haven't changed! The churasco was absolutely amazing and perfectly cooked. The atmosphere is always funky (in a good way) and the service attentive without being overbearing. Everyone in our group... More

We keep coming back to this place just because we get burned out on the normal Houston TexMex. This time I had a Filete Con Hongos and it was great. Not you normal thick filete but it was nicely cooked medium/medium rare which is what I ordered. My wife had the Lomo Y Mar and it was also excellent. The... More

Executive Chef David Cordua and Stages Repertory Theatre arranged a lovely evening to celebrate Stages' production of My Manana Comes, a play about busboys (bussers?) and the immigrant experience. In addition to hearing from the actors, we heard from Fred Espinosa, an immigrant who started as a busboy and is now chief operating officer of Cordua Restaurants. THAT's the American... More

This was the second time my wife and I have been here. The service is fantastic! The decor is very interesting and intriguing. The food is really good. I had the grouper and my wife had the steak and lobster. Good food for a decent value, just be aware that they will up-sell you. The salad is extra etc. Ambiance... More

Great service and plentiful food. Quite pricey, but the experience was worth it. Nice selection of wines.

This was our first visit to America's since they moved from Post Oak. The first thing you can't help but notice is the decor. It's obvious they spent some big bucks decorating. Even the women's restroom is like entering a night club. The food and service were great. We had the empanadas & I had the salmon which was cooked... More

Another Houston Restaurant Week Lunch, we went for the diner menu which was recommended, food was good although I was a little concerned at the tenderising used on the steak. The decor is interesting and worth the explanation from staff.

Two couples went for dinner on Sunday night after flight back to Houston. Service was great and excellent suggestion on wine pairing-- Malbec was great with the steak. Empanadas were very good - both beef and chicken. We had two different steak dishes and Mahi Mahi with Shrimp - all were delicious. A good reminder to get out to different... More

Paella for two was excellent, as were the desserts. The service was good and attentive without being overbearing. Sauces and lamb lollipops were very good. Definitely above average for Houston.
