You can't go wrong eating here. My favorite is the chicken fried steak or steak fingers. The hamburger steak isn't too shabby either. Good salad bar too! It's one of our usuals on Sunday after church. P.S. don't forget to order their onion rings!!!

We always stop when we drive between Austin and College Station. A nice setting of a former house converted to a restaurant. Burgers are great. Chicken sandwiches are great. But the hook is their fried pickles. I never had fried pickles until my daughter told me to stop here. Now I can't get enough. A regular order is a bucket... More

Been going to this restaurant for years. The food is excellent and the staff is friendly. An old country restaurant where you'll feel at home and stepping back in time. The pies are delicious whichever one you order 😋

Elm Creek Cafe serves great Texan Food in a country Texas setting. Their chicken fried steak and fried okra is cooked just the way Texans like it. The fried green tomato appetizer is tangy and delicious. The portions are large and everyone is incredibly friendly. If you're traveling between Bryan and Bastrop a stop at Elm Creek is a must.

My 5 year old ordered fried catfish. When it came out, she said that it didn't taste good. She LOVES catfish so I inspected it. It was gooey and undercooked so we sent it back and decided to order the chicken strips instead. No problem...sometimes things happen. When the chicken strips came out, something told me to check them. Thankfully... More

Our group of four visited on a Thursday (we tried once on Tuesday but it was closed) for lunch. We were early – the only guests in sight - so we had the full attention of the staff. Amanda served us very well answering questions, providing information about the menu items and making recommendations. I had heard about fried green... More

Food and the service was very good. Catfish was out of this world. Homemade onion rings were great. Salad bar was too small, but that was the only thing I would change.

Disguised as a small decorated home, this cafe is located on Highway 21 somewhere between Bryan and Crockett on a long stretch of 21. Don't be fooled by its outer shell because this little cafe/restaurant serves up some pretty darn good food. The locals gather here on Sunday afternoons and the camaraderie makes it feel like home. The menu is... More

Living fairly close, we eat here on a regular basis. The only thing I would change is to add more selection to the salad bar ( cheese, onion, etc). Otherwise, the food is delicious and atmosphere is great!

Stopped here during a day trip and loved the food! It's a quaint little place tucked on the side of the road with antiques and such for sale inside. I had the seafood plate and it was delicious! Yeah, it's heavy on the fried food, but oh so tasty! My other half had the steak and said it was delicious... More
