Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This small little, unassuming bakery was a highlight of my stay in Avoriaz. The fare was tasty and crisp, the service great and the location perfect.

This is the only boulangerie in Avoriaz that is open early. They know they have a captive audience so they clearly don’t bother trying. They are very slow 1. The staff are super rude. I asked for an espresso with a little bit of milk...and I got given out to and told it was another name for it. 2. I asked for a stirrer and got snapped at 3. Thé croissants and pain au chocolat are all cold. And thé croix de Savoie was undercooked. 4. We ordered crepes another day and it took them 20 mins. Don’t bother asking the staff a question about anything because you’ll just get snapped at. They don’t appear to have any sort of system to manage people coming in and there is always a Q.More

My son & I stopped here twice for lunch on a recent ski trip to Morzine (it was recommended to my son by a ski instructor - Usually a good source of local knowledge). If you want to while away a couple of hours in...the sun drinking wine over a 3-course meal, this is not the place for you. If you want a great selection of delicious filling food at great prices, it most definitely is. There is a really good range of hot sandwiches, pastries & pizzas as well as delicious patisserie and nice coffee. It won’t break the bank and you can sit outside watching the world go by on Avoriaz’s main thoroughfare. We just about bagged a table straight away both times, and contrary to some of the reviews, the service was really quick and friendly. We’re off to Avoriaz again in March and we’ll definitely go back...probably to purchase bread & pastries in the morning as wellMore

Eat in or take out, a lovely cafe/bakery I stopped in for lunch. Large selection of sandwiches and more. I went at 1pm, no wait. By 1:45 there was a long line, but they seemed to handle everyone’s orders very quickly.

Some very nice cakes and pastries. Bread was very nice too. Lots of choice of sandwiches. Lots of filling. Not to expensive either. Choice to have your food heated or not.

We are frequent visitors to the Cannelle during our thrice yearly ski weeks in Avoriaz. Over Christmas 2019 we started to notice changes in service levels and quality, potentially due to growing demand. In particular, the pizzas were served cold and the kids remarked that...they were rather too greasy. Unfortunately, we also missed their signature pain d'épices (sold out by noon on three separate days - surely time to adjust the production plan?) and the substituted raspberry sablé lacked in flavour. We'll certainly give them another try next time we're in the station - they remain the only place to get a good loaf of pain noir and the pain aux lardons/ reblochon is still a great slope-side snack.More

On the first morning in the resort I saw loads of people carrying fresh bread in orange paper bags. I went to Carrefour of the first morning as I couldn't figure out where they were emerging from. I found it later that day - it's...almost opposite the Tourist Information centre. A fantastic and quite rightly, busy bakery - they have a fantastic selection of fresh bread, wonderful and amazing looking cakes and also sandwiches. they also sell freshly made to order pizza.More

The pizza was very good and generously sized, perfect for an intense day skiing. Patisserie was excellent too. Prices very reasonable. A lot of food up the mountains can be a bit bland or overpriced, so this place is a gem Only downsides - gets...very busy around lunch, and the steps up to the loo are precarious in ski bootsMore

We found this amazing bakery in Jan 2017 for lunch whilst skiing, and had to come back this year for an equally good lunch. The choices are crazy - freshly cooked pizza, paninis, sandwiches, baguettes, quiche, chips, a huge assortment of cakes, pastries etc etc....There is a nice terrace outside on nice days (which have large umbrellas to protect you from sun/snow), and heaters as well. They is also an upstairs area to sit inside to keep warm. Great place, could go there every day !More

Open all day and serving crepes, freshly squeezed orange juice and coffee from breakfast until dinner, this was our favourite stop in Avoriaz village. Perfect for pre- or post-ski school lunches and rewards, the choice of cakes means you can try a different delicious creation...every day. The macarons are especially good. Extremely child-friendly, the queue may look off-putting, but with a large and efficient staff, it moves quickly. Many people are just buying bread for their own lunches, so it’s almost always possible to get a seat, especially on sunny days. Upstairs is warm and cosy but smaller than the terrace. Special mention to Seb for his excellent crepes.More
