this venue has charm by the bucket load and well dressed waiters serve tea or winebut it is not pretentious , customers arrive from dunes or hotel , some in vest and shorts. I can only say iate cake here and found them bland but then I am spoilt having such good cafes where I live in uk. the coffee... More

This is an instuitution! Every afternoon it seems gay men and elderly ladies flock to Cafe Wien for coffee/tea and a slice of their delicious cakes, flans or tarts. The waiters have attitude, beware and take no notice! The menu is in German, some of the staff do not speak any other language (not a problem for me, but in... More

Food here is Aaa-Maz-Zing!!! We visited several times during the week of our stay just so we could try all the different cakes on offer. Every cake is super-tasty and so slight, never tried anything else like them. Couldn't get enough and can't wait till we can visit again.

Nice place to stop for afternoon tea and cake after the beach. The selection of cakes are good and the coffee was very nice. Shame that the waiter was only interested in serving bears. If you don't have a beard the service is lousy!

Cafe Wien is an old favourite amongst those who've spent the day turning their bits a burnt umber on the beach at Maspalomas. The cakes are delicious and seem reasonably authentic but that's about the best bit. Located in the paint peeling environs of the Cita Centre (think Arndale in desperate need of a facelift) it's busy, busy, busy but... More

This is a little gay oasis in the otherwise rundown Cita Centre. The cafe is quaint and the service was excellent. The cakes were fabulous and a very large selection was available. The atmosphere is very friendly and is most popular with gay guys in the mid afternoon. Certainly worth a visit.

Great cafe in the cita centre. Faultless coffee and cake with good service too. Quite a large cafe but gets full. The cakes are a must

This is hidden away on the first floor of the Cita Centre. It always seems to attract gays and a few straights. Very friendly, but get in before about 1730 as the cakes run out.

A must "do" for all gay and gay friendly people. The cafe is more an after beach meeting place. It gets very busy between 4pm and 6pm. So if you want a good seat arrive early. There are the usual different kind of teas and coffee on offer as well and beers and alcohol. The cakes are delicious and can... More

What could possibly be gayer than having afternoon tea, which is the campest of all meals, in a gay resort, surrounded by tons of gay men, served by gay waiters in a gay way on gay crockery... well you get the picture. This place is as camp as Christmas, and I loved it! It is supposed to be like an... More
