Wow! Our experience of Edinbane Lodge certainly exceeded our high expectations. The tasting menu was sublime, the service was excellent and not at all stuffy. The ethos of the restaurant in sourcing local ingredients is laudable and has certainly paid off, with the quality and...freshness of the ingredients. We were warmly welcomed from our arrival for our overnight stay through to our departure. The wine flight was brilliantly matched to the taster menu.More

I booked the Edinbane on the basis of its being recommended in the Michelin Guide. Overall it's out there as the best place my OH and I have dined in by far. It's well worthy of a Michelin star. The food is excellent and very...well presented and service was on point !! Accompanying the 8 course tasting menu we were given a handy descriptor of where all the produce is sourced with much of it coming from the garden or nearby on Skye. Each course was very well presented and tasted superb. For me the stand out dishes were the monkfish and the scallops (which were sourced in Edinbane itself). Although very tasty, I did find the wagu beef a little 'chewy'; it wasn't as good as some belted galloway fillet I sampled at a Michelin star venue a few nights previous. The service is very professional and excellent in every way; well presented, personable and friendly staff and not overly attentive. I liked the fact that the serving staff wore black gloves. As I've said about some of the other venues I've visited recently, I do wonder how Michelin rank their restaurants as the Edinbane Lodge is better than some 2-star places we have visited in the past. 10 out of 10.More

One of the wonderful things about Scotland is their food. Everywhere, from brunch to a quick afternoon cafe to full on dinner, the average quality of what you taste is quite high. Now imagine a place aiming even higher: that's Edinbane Lodge. Their focus and...imagination around local produce and flavours pay off -- the main fish course that evening was simply wonderful, as was everything else all the way to petit fours. There is a quiet elegance to this place, at once simple and sophisticated, with a genuinely warm service. Absolutely deserving their top spot on the island as well as their Michelin recognition.More

Relaxed five star dining. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Before our visit, Katie called us to check if we had any allergies/dietary requirements. A special menu menu was prepared for me as a result of my dietary requirements. This was no hassle whatsoever to the...restaurant. The staff were all lovely and the food absolutely fantastic. The beef was one of the nicest dishes I have ever tasted. The way the beef has been cooked was incredible (crisp on the edges and Smokey - although I made the cardinal sin of asking for my beef medium to well). In fact, I would say this particular dish was nicer than any of the dishes currently being served at Andrew Fairlie’s restaurant (i.e a high bar). The dress code is very mixed. Some people were dressed formally whilst others in trainers/jeans but most people were smart casual.More

The tasting dinner was amazing. Everything was cooked to perfection and beautifully presented and served. Yes, the portions are small but there are eight to ten of them, depending on what you decide is a course and what a pre-course, and I left feeling nicely...full. Even the bread was amazing. It’s expensive, especially if you add the wine pairing, which two of us did, but worth it for something memorable.More
