Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We stopped her the evening before the total eclipse, so as you might imagine, it was absolute madness. SO. MANY. PEOPLE. probably all coming into Hill Country or on their way to Austin for viewing. Not sure why we timed it like we did. But...that said, being from out of Texas, we knew we had to go and it lived up to our expectations. We were hungry, so each of us picked up some dinner. I got a burrito, husband got a BBQ Pork sandwich, and daughter got a sandwich, and we got some snacks (Buccee balls.... yummmmmmm). The place was huge and well run, and clean, for how busy it was. It's true. It's like a Kwik Trip on steroids. If I lived in Texas, I'd be going all the time. Food was good, too!More

As always clean restrooms. Place was busy but plenty of gas pumps with no wait. Lots to eat and stuff to buy. Got to see Bucee.

What a VERY large and unique store and gas station! Over 100 gas pumps means no waiting in lineups to pump your gas. There was also a long row of EV chargers available too. Lots and lots of parking spaces available to shop inside the...store. The rest rooms were incredibly clean and you can shop for everything from glazed nuts to jerky, brisket, bakery items, fudge, clothing, souvenirs and much, much more. It is a unique experience!More

Lots of fun for visitors from out-of-state who have never experienced Buc-Ee's. Amazing experience for some recent Oregon and California tourists ("Hey, this place goes on forever). Food is excellent (especially the nuts and sandwiches). Traffic in the area can be really busy and be...careful as you navigate the gas pump 'region.' Also worth knowing that many of the surrounding roads are 30 mph and often are not posted. Lots of smiling radar officers surround this Buc-Ee's looking to pick-off unsuspecting non-locals...a special experience to add to your day. Good luck!More

I have read the two previous bad reviews here and have to say you are full of bull! As a native texan and pit master i can rock a brisket. Yes i believe mine is best in the world just like all other pitmasters. But,...i have to say Buck ee's chopped is pretty damn good. Don't know how y'all do it in Kentucky and Virginia respectfully but the bit of fat that is on the brisket is chopped into the chopped brisket. That's part of it. It's pretty obvious that you don't know what bbq sauce is either! I'm pretty sure you all wrote that cr@p just to have something negative to say. There are people who are negative about everything+ Now back to Buck ee's. This place is amazing and yes things cost a bit more. This isn't Wal-Mart! It's a roadside stop. But have you ever ever ever in your life seen a wall of beef jerky like that? Don't lie ofcourse you haven't! Stop comparing and just enjoy it. Buck ee's is a one of a kind!More

I bought a sausage cheese biscuit. I was traveling yesterday and decided to eat it in my car. Bad idea. As soon as I unwrapped it, this giant biscuit started falling apart. I didn’t even have a napkin. My bad. I ended up only eating...the piece of sausage in this biscuit that was now totally in pieces, I decided that I wanted my money back because it was not the quality that you should expect at Buccees. The lady informed me I could not get my money back. I told her that was unacceptable. She was a team lead. So then she had to go see somebody else about it. They ended up letting me get something of equal value. So just a forewarning don’t ever try to eat one of their biscuits in your car. And guess what? It didn’t even taste good.More

What a super stop on a road trip or anytime! We found gifts to take back home to family from t-shirts, to dog toys, to beef jerky, to chocolate covered almonds to beaver nuggets in all kinds of flavors! The food is also amazing! The...brisket sandwich was warm and delicious. The banana pudding so yummy. From the bakery we tried the beaver tail, pecan squares, peach muffin, orange cranberry muffins and cinnamon roll with pecans. Everything tasted great and wasn’t overly sweet. The roasted pecans and cashews were fresh and a perfect, yummy snack. Enjoyed our adventure at Bucees! Oh and super cute mascot, too!More

Love this place! We visited 5 of them in our stay! Fresh food is amazing- always making bbq sandwiches and fudge. Bringing home fudge and Buc-ee brand snacks. Baked Cheetos and nuggets are great. Huge selection of souvenirs and snacks. We always tell people about...how huge it is. Love the Christian items and bathrooms are many and clean. Wall of jersey including fresh in cases like a deli. Ton of selection. Not much in the way of pharmacy items- some. Lots of employees.More

This is definitely a Nonna recommended stop, if for no other reason than you need to know you can get good brisket at a quick stop in Texas. I think it's a law. Besides having a huge amount of gas pumps, knick-knacks and chotskies, you'll...be thrilled to know that they have tons of delicious snacks and foods. From dozens (yes, dozens!) of types of jerky, to homemade candies and frozen treats, you'll find lots of down home cooking. There are several types of BBQ, pulled pork, beef ribs and lots of good Mexican treats. We got burritos, tacos and someone had made a nice chili and soup that day. Give this place a try. It's all made well and will satisfy both your taste buds and a cravings without busting your wallet. FYI, their mascot Buc-ee will come in and make a visit at all hours of the day and night. It's all in fun, and if you miss him for a picture, you can take one near the statue placed strategically near all of the stores.More

Wow! This was the largest and most impressive gas station I’ve ever seen! It’s HUGE! And they have everything from hunting supplies to grilling supplies (even grills) to making their own jerky, brisket and smoked meats for their breakfasts and lunches. They have lots of...shopping inside, such as gifts, Christmas and seasonal and clothing too! Definitely worth a stop! And, by the way, they sell gas too… Lots of it! More pumps than I’ve ever seen! The food we got was outstanding! Brisket is smokey and tasty! Jerky was excellent!More

A buddy told me he's going to stop in New Braunfels on the way to San Antonio from Austin to show me the biggest convenience store in the world. They did have about 100 gas pumps, a wall and a half of candy, thousands of...clean cut suburbanites snatching the $7 Texas brisket sandwiches off the hot rack as busy girls whipped them out as fast as they disappeared. They had all sorts of convenience store crap at prices that fit the controlled chaos. I felt a little sick and dizzy at the absurdity of it all. But if Mickey Mouse and the big rat Buc'ee flips your switch this is the place to go! The funny thing was they installed about 35 Tesla charging stations on the edge of the parking lot near the road and all of them were empty, like an empty promise and a delusional public policy metaphor.More

We went early in the am and thought it was busy during the time. People everywhere. We picked up a bunch of different sandwiches to try and some other goodies. Its like a museum, so much to look at from clothing to camping gear. It...was just fun to say we stopped in and walked around. Later in the afternoon we stopped to grab some drinks before leaving the area, well the parking lot was half full and it was like pushing and shoving to move around in that place. Now were going to see about going to one closer to usMore

An experience if you have not been here as it's really a destination. This is a gas station behemoth on steroids with I'm guessing 200+ pumps and the lowest gas prices I saw between Austin and San Antonio along with a convenience store with an...assortment of snack/meal and various other merchandise options at very reasonable options. My wife even commented that the restrooms were spacious and very clean. Wish we had a place like this in Indiana.More
