Friends suggested this place. Never expected it! Great atmosphere, great service, friendly folks and good food. The catfish was great and I'm not a catfish lover. The onion rings were in my top three I've found anywhere in the US. Love to go here again, wonderful experience.

We have been meaning to go here for a long time and finally went. We should have been here sooner!! The food was great!! It is a popular place so make sure you are giving yourself time because there will most likely be a wait. The onion rings were so good and our shrimp and crawfish were so tasty. We... More

We found this on trip advisor while looking for lunch in Gruene tx. Wow what a fantastic Eating place super great friendly service. The trout was good with the cornmeal breaking and lemon butter sauce. Just our style, family friendly and not a franchise!!

A very unusual restaurant established in an old barn like building. Noted for homemade onion rings which we ordered. They were not the best that I have ever had, but good. Catfish & shrimp combo was good. Service was excellent. Price was moderate. Extremely busy on weekends, so it is better to go midweek around 3 to 4 pm. We... More

This is our go to place for catfish, fish and especially onion rings. Always great food, quick friendly service and good old-fashioned home town atmosphere. Just one warning to newbies - don't miss the fantastic onion rings, but only order the large serving if you bring the family or your party includes a lumberjack. As a couple with healthy appetites... This restaurant is a great family venue. The seafood and steaks are great and the onion rings are some of the best around. I would highly recommend this place for in town guest and casual dining, without breaking the pocket book.

This catfish feed is guaranteed to make you smile. Don't miss out on the opportunity to enjoy this Texas treat. It's worth the drive. Clear Springs is comparable to a catfish dinner of my mother-in-law's excellent kitchen in Live Oak County.

This was the very first Clear Springs location. It's actually located in Clear Springs, Texas between Seguin and New Braunfels. The building dates back to 1869 when it was mainly used as a grocery store for the locals. If you are ever in the area, it's worth the trip to check out the history that's behind this popular location. You better come early, standing room only is a common sight here.
