Someone wanted me to try a manske roll. I thought it was the grossest thing ever. It was just a big, fatty, grease soaked roll covered in sugar.

Great food, nice atmosphere and friendly staff. We had burgers, grilled cheese and of course the manske roll (not your typical cinnamon roll). The day we went there was even a choir singing Christmas carols, what an added treat. Will definitely return!!!

Went on a campus tour and the tour guide mentioned this place so we checked it out! Had 2 burgers combos and a chicken strip combo. The burgers were very good! You can tell they are made fresh. Very tasty! We took our manskeroll order to go because we were so full from our lunch. Had it for breakfast with... More

This is a greezy spoon dinner that is know for the honey bun style Manskie roll the president LBJ was known to love. The food is a short list of burgers and fries and very close to the university. If you are with a small group of say 2-3 it is an ok burger joint. If you have a larger... More

I love the burgers at Gils. They are always fresh and juicy, the bacon is tasty and the buns are fresh and divine. The french fries are above average and the Manske Roll tops out a great meal. I love the Gil Moster burger as it combines St Louis dressing and cheese with two large patties of meat.

This is another San Marcos eatery. Commonly frequented by college students it serves a fantastic burgers and shakes in a somewhat intimate setting. The famed Manske roll is indescribable. Bet you can't eat a whole one. Get a burgers and take the roll home to eat later. A personal favorite when I get a chance to go to downtown San... More

We stopped by for a late lunch on Sunday afternoon. We heard this was a great place for burgers and the famous Manske cinnamon roll. We ordered the 1/4 lb burger combo and two Manske rolls. There was a bit of a wait for our meal and we were pleasantly surprised when our order was upgraded to a 1/2 lb... More

A little hole in the wall hamburger place. I got the 1/4 lb California style hamburger. It was so delicious! Homemade buns have a sweet flavor that adds to the burger. Also, tasted the cinnamon rolls. They were very good!!

Food is very good and reasonably priced. Hamburgers are handmade and one MUST try their cinnamon rolls. Soooooo good!

Gils has been around since the dawn of time. So, it seems. The Manske rolls is what put them on the map, and the other's (cinnabon) followed. I'm glad that this place has not changed much. Still my favorite.
