well known stop almost halfway between San Antonio and Houston, right on I-10 at the Schulenberg (Hwy 77) intersection. Had lunch there with a friend - first time I had been there. Ordered the barbque brisket plate, with German potatoes. Food was tasty BUT the meat was not brisket, it was very thinly sliced roast beef with barbque sauce.

Just an ok place. The food looks like they pour it out of can. Thought it would be better. Not going back.

I first ate here back in the early 1970s. I generally don't stop for a sit-down meal so I haven't been here a lot considering the number of years I've been driving by. However, I'd say I've been here about ten times over the years - twice in 2016. I like Frank's or at least the idea of it: an... More

However long it has been here Frank's had never disappointed. My wife says the menu has not changed in her lifetime, but why change a good thing. Service is very fast, food is hot and always good, and the best comes next - the desserts. The Dutch Apple Pie is the best ever.

We came here on a weekday at lunch. We ordered 2 sliced beef lunch specials which came right away. Food was pretty good and decently priced. The problem was Maria, our waitress, who disappeared. No refills, nothing. We flagged another waitress who got our bill for us and took our dessert order. The coconut cream pie is to die for.... More

We were passing through about 1 pm on a Saturday not super busy. Took our order and our waiter disappeared. Finally had to ask another waiter to get him after 30 mins and needing more drinks. At a point at 45 mins we have seen our waiter once and no food no communication we hear another waitress tell a couple... More

The breakfast was good and brought out without a lot of waiting. The waitress was very courteous. The prices were very competitive with other restaurants.

Frank's is decent food, nothing amazing. I took a big group there and the service was good. They have a neat gift shop, so be sure to check it out.

I had an opportunity to have dinner at frank's today - always good food and great service. The waitress was kind and made sure everything was just right. The manager at the register came by to check on my me as well. I had the 8 oz ribeye, green salad and baked potato. Steak was cooked to my liking -... More

Our breakfast included bacon, scrambled eggs and biscuits. These items were simply prepared and were acceptable. Bland breakfast items, nothing special and not especially tasty. Of course, we didn't expect any of it to be very zesty.
