My husband had the ground sirloin with mashed and gravy. Very lean and NOT a frozen patty mashed red potatoes and the gravy was very good. I opted for a small chicken fried steak a guilty pleasure. It was good and homemade. Fresh cube steak dredged in flour salt pepper and fried Not deep fried it was good. Our server... More

Order the chicken fried steak with a baked potato and a trip to the salad bar. The meat is cut there and is never frozen or pre-breaded. Keep in mind that this isn't a big town expense account steak house so be advised the the ribeye, filets, etc. will not be top notch. You should stay with what they do... More

Went in to eat breakfast. Nicely decorated for a steakhouse. They were out of biscuits which was disappointing because I could have eaten free at hotel to eat toast. All in all what they had was good and would have felt like a better value if they had what was on the menu.

This is an obvious gathering spot at breakfast for old timers in Sonora. The staff are helpful and friendly and prices very reasonable. Typical Texas selections on the menu.

I had reviewed several locations in Sonora, looking for a reasonable place to eat prior to running around this small town. SCS was ranked as #1 so I was thinking about staying with plan A. When I got to the hotel, the hostess did indicate that the food was good but it was a bit pricey. Not knowing what pricey... More

My boys and I stopped here on the way to Brackettville and had an early brunch. The patty melt and sweet potato fries were great! My boys got the wings and nachos. The wings appetizer was nothing to write home about and the nachos were okay, something that you could throw together at home. The meal was pretty expensive and... More

Every aspect of this location reflects pride of ownership. Everyone is friendly, polite, and attentive. All the way to consistent smiles. The decor is fresh, maintained (not worn), and upscale. Everything is clean!!!! The meals were constructed from all fresh ingredients - no restaurant pack here. Each item was perfectly prepared and seasoned.

Stopped here for lunch. We arrived at the end of the lunch rush and were seated immediately. Server was very friendly and recommended the daily lunch special. My wife and I each ordered that. The steak was tasty and cooked to order. The sides were ample and also very tasty. The best thing was that it was a very hot... More

We stopped in for a quick lunch on the way to the caverns. Don't let "steakhouse" put you off for lunch or dinner, they have a menu and are a fine spot for a good in-and-out lunch. My wife had a great (and huge!) chicken and fruit salad with a nice vinagrette. I tried their well-advertised onion rings and was... More
