Finding a decent place for a meal in this part of Texas is a challenge, needless to say. Fortunately, I found this place on a recommendation by one of the staff Big Bend Natl Park. The place is VERY informal, matching its surroundings in Terlingua. However, the menu has plenty of width, from regional appetizers to Tex-Mex to steaks. I... More

We stopped to have a beer, and found a good selection of Big Bend Brewery beers and Tejas beer. Interesting decor; lots of interesting signs and paintings.

Love going to High Sierra everytime we are in the area!! The Mexican food is Fantastic!!! But the very best thing at High Sierra is sitting outside on the upstairs Balcony, overlooking The Chisos Mountains, watching the Amazing Sunsets!!! We usually eat there almost every night while on vacation.

Deanna and Herman are the owners and your hosts while staying at the El Dorado Hotel in Terlingua. The High Sierra Bar & Grill is where you'll want to grab a bowl of their award-winning chili, listen to live music and connect with the lifeblood of the community.

Went here a couple of times during a three day stay in Terlingua. To be honest, both times we had beer and their award winning chili. The staff is very nice and attentive. There is live music and other entertainment.....ie; the business' pet goat! while we were there he did his best escape from alcatraz impersonation and promptly ate half... More

Stopped in for a late lunch. Food was pretty good and the price was fair. Definitely had a local flair to it. Service was good, overall a good place to eat at.

Stopped in for some nachos for lunch just after the hustle and bustle of the chili cook off. Chelsea at the bar said they had over 20000 people come to check out the festivities for the week. Kind of hard to beat the pulled pork nachos.

Grab a cool drink of beer or wine & soak up the desert atmosphere! You can sit at the bar or grab a table upstairs or downstairs, all having a view of the giant screen TV (football) or stage (musicians). Outside on the shaded, breezy porch, one October Saturday afternoon, folks gathered to hear acoustic country songs. Above the porch... More

My favorite place to eat and drink in Terlingua! The owners Herman and Deanna are wonderful host's who make you feel right at home! The burritos and burgers are particularly good, as are the chicken wings! They have a good selection of beer and what's on tap is the coldest around. On top of all this they have amazing musical... Somehow my brother and I weren't wowed, but dinner was certainly adequate. BIggest TV screen I've ever seen, but then this is Texas.
