I loved this piece of history. The restaurant has been open since the 1890's and is the oldest restaurant in Texas. One local told us that years ago only men could eat there, which may explain why the restroom seemed more suited for men than...More
Food comes quick and ever table was full at lunch, so that says something! Very good and amazing building with much history. Will come again if the opportunity comes up!
They've been around since 1882, so as they saying goes they've had to have been doing something right! A great spot for both travelers or a business lunch. My favorite is the turkey BLT croissant sandwich paired with any one of their soups. Many parts...More
This deli is located in an old building, which adds to the restaurants charm. It's a nice place for an affordable light lunch in the downtown area. I work nearby and frequent this deli often. I rarely dine-in but when I do, I sit in...More

Lunch with a friend, the service was excellent, we were checked on at least every 5 minutes, our drinks were kept full. Very good soup and sandwich at a very reasonable price. Really quick service even at a busy time. Good place for quiet lunch.
Well presented meals. My chicken salad sandwich was delicious and simple. Nice young ladies serving. Good atmosphere. These are the places that make you glad you did not stop at a chain franchise. I would stop again if going through town.
