It's been 2 years since I've been to Slippery Minnow, and what a difference! I always enjoyed it there but the new owners have taken it from a dive to something more elevated. Sure, you're still floating in a marina, eating fried food and drinking beer. But now it's clean and bright and airy. They still have cold beer and... More

The Slippery Minnow is a seasonal restaurant that Floats on Lake Waco. On the Western Shore off Hwy 6 and Overflow Road. Just a few miles west of I-35. We are a family ownered and operated business. Open march through Labor Day. Most all ingredients are fresh and hand made. We take pride in our cleanliness and great food. The... More

We spend lots of time on Lake Waco, and always stop in the Slippery Minnow Bar & Grill to quench our thirst and fill up on some good (although not fabulous) food ... their burgers are very good ... fried shrimp basket is so tasty but not fresh shrimp just prefrozen ... catfish poorboy is very good ... they offer... Fun place on the lake. Very good, hot food and cold drinks. Nothing fancy. Much nicer inside than exterior would indicate. Service is faster than expected for similar places. Live music often on deck. Boats frequently use slips for drive-up access, whether to dine-in, dine-on-boat, or take out.

Off the beaten path in Waco, but if you are boating it is convenient to the Lake Waco Marina. You order at a counter indoors and pick up at a counter outdoors. Sitting out on the deck overlooking the lake offers a relaxing change of pace from most places in Waco. The menu is burgers and fried food, buckets of... More

We enjoyed our burgers and fried shrimp at Slippery Minnow after a full day of camping activities. Being right at the marina and near our campground of Speegleville Park was a plus. You basically go inside place your order and the friendly waitstaff bring you your food. One small item we did not like is they do not offer tap... More

Is it the best food ever? No. Should you plan on visiting? Yes. It's a fun setting(literally on the lake), with good if not great food, and excellent views. Waco has plenty of sunny days, and if you want somewhere to make the most of one of them look no further.

The food was very average. All pre-packaged, seafood & chopped salad. Prices were out of line with the offerings. Counter ordering, pickup window, & high prices. Nothing special.

Went down for my first visit with a friend on a Sunday afternoon. I was very impressed with the setting. There were a couple of guys playing some very good music. Food was very good, though the servers seemed to be a little overwhelmed at times.
