About
Climb aboard Casey's Caboose and step back in time to a bygone era when the iron horse and the train was the lifeblood of the nation. This imaginative restaurant, opened in 1981, is housed in a 35 ton circa 1900 railroad snowplow car that for years kept the snow-drifted tracks of New England clear and safe until is was sidelined by a derailment. Casey's Caboose takes it's name and cue from the Cannonball Express run by that famous engineer Casey Jones, whose locomotive was barreling down the tracks in 1900 when a stalled freight train came into view. "JUMP! JUMP! " Casey ordered his crew, though he remained at the controls in an attempt to avoid disaster. Casey Jones met his own demise that

The food here is very good and nicely presented. The service was very slow. The wait staff was substandard. No personality whatsoever. It took a very long time to order and receive the food. I got the sense that it was understaffed the night we...were there.More

We were immediately seated and our drink order taken. When the drinks arrived we asked for a few minutes to look over the menu. The menu was perfect and had plenty of choices. When our server returned to take our order she mentioned the Prime...Rib special. My husband Patrick jumped right on that, with a side of the best Mac & Cheese ever. I usually order the Fish and Chips, which are absolutely delicious, but, could not pass on the Prime Rib. It came out perfectly cooked and it was gigantic, most importantly, delicious. Great service throughout. I absolutely will be jumping on this train again!More

Really this is a 2 rating. I do not understand why trip advisor rates it so highly. The burger was just an ordinary dry burger. The fish and chips nothing exciting. The macaroni reasonable. The usual menu was not available.. this was a very below...average meal. Very disappointed!More

Thanks so much for taking the time to review us. On busy holiday weekends like this one, we do sometimes drop the ball and let people down. Sincere apologies to your party and we will continue to work on some of our shortcomings. :)

We arrived before five O'clock and there were some cars in the lot and a good crowd at the bar. We were taken to our table and our cocktail order was taken. This restaurant is amazing! Parts of the restaurant are actual railroad cars. we...looked over the menu, which is just the right size, a good sign. We started with the Clam Chowder, it's fantastic! Mrs. B ordered the fish & chips, with French fries and cooked perfectly. I ordered the Mac & Cheese that was the best I've ever had. Service throughout was right on target. The servings were very good size. Glad we came early as there was a waiting line when we left. Dining here is a visual and eating experience.More

Saw this was a top rated place on Trip Advisor but almost didn't stop when driving by and the parking lot was empty but I am glad I did. Interesting little place, which indoor and outdoor seating. I had some wings, a burger and their...fries and some of the Mac N Cheese. My eyes were a little bigger than my appetite but the food was good. The wings were the highlight, I was just going to eat a couple and take the others with me but they were so good I ate them all (before the rest of my food even came out).More

Absolutely enjoyed our meal. You must try the Mac & Cheese the best I've had anywhere. Mrs. B & I both had the prime rib dinner. It was perfectly cooked and soooo delicious. The servers were totally on top of it throughout. Fortunately we had...made reservations as the place was packed, with a waiting list. Great atmosphere.More

My wife and I stopped here after a Vermont scenic drive. The staff was excellent and the drinks were just what we needed after a long drive. I had the New England claim chowder and the scallops with bacon and maple syrup. My wife had...the Callapini. We stopped because it is dog friendly but because it was cool he enjoyed staying in the car.. On our next trip to the area I would stop here again.More

It’s pretty hard to beat the ambiance of sitting in one of these warm snug nooks in the caboose after a long day and it’s snowing outside. What’s also great about this place is that the service and food are also outstanding!

Our first visit in over 30 years shows this is still a great place for a good meal and different atmosphere. As we were looking for a light meal, we had the scallops wrapped in bacon and topped with maple syrup, and the soft pretzel...sticks that came with a German mustard and a fantastic flavored cheese sauce. Our server, Heather, made our short visit a pleasure. We will go back as the menu has some interesting items.More

Mrs. B and I have been coming to Casey's for over 30 years. The new owners and especially the general manager, have made this the number one restaurant in Killington. Get here early as the parking lot, as huge as it is, gets totally full....The reason: The food, the service and the atmosphere are fantastic. Everything comes out perfectly cooked, and there is plenty of it. Also a great family restaurant, pets allowed and they have their own menu. So, so glad we discovered this restaurant.More

Our friends, Killington locals, brought us here while we were in town for a weekend birthday celebration. Since it was the off-season, late June, there were no crowds and it was warm enough to sit outside on the “porch” of the caboose. Everyone in our...party of 5 enjoyed their meals, which were served promptly. Be sure to ask the bartender for the coin toss, which operates the trains that run along the ceiling of the bar. A great time in a unique setting.More
