My girlfriend and I spent an afternoon in Middlebury. The Storm Cafe was the perfect choice for lunch. The ambience is always upbeat, and the crowd cheerful. The soup of the day was a delicious carrot ginger. I ordered the El Bandito. The black bean cakes were nicely flavored with salsa and a cilantro lime aioli. The sandwich of the... More

We had hoped to eat at another place, but it was too busy, so sought out another place to eat ended up at the Storm Cafe. It was not easy to find unless you were looking for it, and even when we went down the steep narrow road to the address, it looked dark and closed. The entrance is around... More

Had scallops on greens, a curry soup, and bread with olive oil. I don't know why, but the bread here is so incredibly delicious compared to Nebraska, where I am from. I am going to leave the Middlebury area after 3 months quite fatter!!

Hard to find and pretty small but that adds to it....interesting menu and we all got 4 different things and loved it. The bread was epic....and I even splurged for dessert which was incredible. Great calm, small and intimate atmosphere with a sophisticated menu filled with high quality food. You won't be disappointed.

The Storm Cafe is a hidden gem in Middlebury. Chef Talmage is brilliant and the menu shows it. Although this place is small, the staff manages it well and caters to its customers with skill. Hands down the best place to eat brunch in Middlebury. Every time I eat here, I feel like I should be paying more. I would... More

This was our first stop after arriving in Middlebury for the wknd. We got there just in time for a late lunch (also serve B & D) & sat on their picturesque, outdoor deck. They offer 3 combos - I had soup & sandwich. Soup du jour was Corn Chowder. A cream stock w/bacon & fresh spices. Very good, but I... More

What a great little spot in a scenic setting. Food was very good, as well as awesome service. And the walk to and from was very picturesque.

We stopped for breakfast and they didn't disappoint. We had the special omelet (tomatoes, spinach, mozzarella) with home fries and great toast with bread from a local bakery. Loved the decor and oil paintings for sale that hung on the walls. Wish the weather was warmer so we could have sat outside, although other heartier souls did.

We almost didn't hike down the hill to this restaurant as you have to go down the hill and turn the corner to find it. Don't give up if the windows look dark in the old mill building, as the restaurant is on the other side! We were so glad we found it. The food was terrific -- I had... More
