This place is on the way to Monticello and near-by haunts; you should definitely stop. The meats, cheeses and bread are all top notch. Inventive combinations of flavors; nothing was overcooked. Decor was spot-on, staff are hip and friendly, music selection of the day was hip hop late 90s/early 00s, so I was dancing in my seat. Would love if... More

Food is really good. Perfect spot for lunch, a little pricey, but so what. They are friendly, they try really hard, they produce good food and the setting is delightful.

Ordered the special sandwich of the day. Not something I would have normally selected. Can I say... One of the best sandwiches I have ever had.

Great smaller spot in a great location: in between wineries and Monticello. Parking is a little limited, sits on an award corner. Great local place with good food. We were happy and my wife thanked me for finding a great place.

Not sure if this place is located in the middle of nowhere, or the middle of everywhere, but it is worth finding. We originally planned to got to Jefferson Vineyards (visible from this deli), but ended up taking our food to Monticello instead. This place is located at an odd 3-way intersection, in a small little old stone building, with... More

Stopped by for a picnic lunch. The ham, Brie, chutney sandwich was delicious. They do not open before 12 on Sunday. There was a line waiting to get in. They were efficient getting the food made. You must have cash. No charges accepted. There are tables in and outside and they will deliver your food to you.

This quaint deli is located near Monticello. It is tiny, but serves some very artful and delicious sandwiches. They also have some local items for sale. I purchased honey from a local farm. The service is friendly and welcoming.

My wife and I and another couple were on a trip to James Monroe's house, Ashlawn/Highland. We had passed up eating lunch earlier at Montpelier because our B and B served a great breakfast and we were still pretty full. It could've been a problem, because as we got closer to our tour there were less spots available to eat,... More

Serves tasty in-house prepared sandwiches and lunch fare in an old converted gas station located on Rte 53, known by locals as 'the back way' to Monticello.
