It made us realize how important it was to have a rest stop with refreshments out on these long and hard trails. We love the Scottish connection! They offer perfect Southern fare and it you arrive early for lunch, you can save a little (...More

We chose this restaurant because of its proximity to Monticello. It's a historic tavern where the staff dresses in period costume. The food was hearty but plain: fried chicken, corn bread, stewed tomatoes. overcooked green beans. The choices were limited and drinks and desserts were...More

We enjoyed our time at this restaurant, but thought it was too expensive for the amount of food offered. We figured out that we were paying for the experience and ambiance and not the food. The food tasted good but I would have thought there...More

The tour of the historic buildings and the opportunity to shop in the little stores did not hold a candle to the delight we felt in eating abundantly of delicious food at not too high a price. Fried chicken to die for, and peach cobbler...More

We had the only lunch option- a small buffet featuring vegetables, pulled pork, baked chicken and fried chicken. I was priced at $17.95.... twice what I feel it should have been. She thought the fried chicken was excellent, but I would call it average. The...More

This restaurant/location actually has a very interesting history (look it up online, I am no historian...lol), but my friend recommended we go there as we were heading to Monticello. Literally a few turns away from Jefferson's home, they offer a fabulous southern style buffet. Upon...More

Had the buffet for $20 and it was good solid southern cooking and lots of it. Black-eyed peas, green beans with bacon (like momma made), home made mashed, and some mac&cheese and fried chicken biscuits and gravy. Waitresses were very attentive and quick. Fried chicken...More
