Walked in about 5:30 on a sunday night. the place was empty. so we decided to stay anyways. The staff was very friendly and full of life. another reason we stayed. i had the meatloaf mashed potatoes and coleslaw. the meatloaf comes out covered in gravy. wished the gravy was on the side. i like catsup with my meatloaf. Nice diverse menu, seems to be open year round. Simple atmosphere but food is good, especially if you are looking for a hot meal (meatloaf, turkey/gravy, etc). They also have a bar.

Service was fine, wine portion was generous, salad a bit ordinary (lettuce, sliced onion, tomato, that's it), Lasagna entre was fine. I expect scratch-made when I go to a "diner" and it this was scratch assembled, I assume. Been here for breakfast before and that was decent. Not a "real" diner but serves diner like food.

Looking for lunch on an off season, holiday weekend and decided to go here. This was President's Day weekend, 2017 and there were a lot of people on the island. It appeared the managers were taken by surprise at all the business and were a bit understaffed. We weren't in a hurry so that wasn't a big deal. We had... More

I love Chincoteague in the off-season, it's quiet, it's friendly. However, there are not many dining establishments open. The Chincoteague Diner & Restaurant saves the day! Know that it will be nothing fancy, but the folks who run it are friendly, helpful, and the food is good basic grub. I've had sandwiches, salads, soups, and baskets there. I have yet... More

Both of us ordered an omelet (bacon, cheese & tomato) for lunch. Absolutely inedible. Bacon was raw and full of gristle and had an unappetizing smoked smell and taste. Had to spit it out in our napkins. Fried potatoes were cold and cooked some time before they were put on our plate. We ordered cinnamon toast but the cinnamon and... More

Winter lunch was very good. Being one of the few places open in the offseason isn't the only reason to go there...the food is quite good, as is the service. Prices are fair and food was tasty.
