My sister is a Charleston, S.C. food snob and took my mom here when she visited home a few months ago. I was looking for a special place to celebrate one of our resident's (at our assisted living where I work) 99th birthday. My sister recommend The Public House, and coming from her, that was high praise. I called to... More

Went to dinner to celebrate my husband's birthday - the food was amazing, the waitress was friendly and knowledgeable to answer our questions. We had a reservation and they were ready for us when we arrived. The atmosphere was relatively quiet but not stuffy, very comfortable. You won't be disappointed!

What a great evening! We had a very nice dinner with family and friends. Everything that was ordered was great. My husband had the burger, said it was one of the best burgers he ever had. I had herb chicken which was delicious. Others had the special of the evening and they were well pleased. Portions are generous. Great atmosphere.... More

We had been wanting to try dinner here since they revamped menu. Lunch has been great. Dinner did not disappoint either. The sweet potato sage soup was luscious. All of my dining companions agrees their food was excellent as well. Service was good but was obvious new staff who need some training. We had to ask for gravy for mashed... More

My wife and I stopped for an early dinner at this lovely old home, old on the outside but very modern on the inside. The service and food were very good but the kitchen does not match those same standards. My wife has a very serious garlic allergy which always creates challenges. Many kitchens get their favors from the sauce... More

I agree with you regarding the fish tacos. I prefer them to be more flavorful (and hot), but we walk a fine line with how much is enough. The fish tacos are being changed with the new Fall menu, adding chicken and beef choices with a new topping. However, please always let your server know when you are not satisfied. More

We were driving through Flint Hill last Sunday and decided to stop by for brunch/lunch at Public House. We got there at 3:02 and were told we missed brunch (till 3) and were given dinner menu. Restaurant had no more than 5 guests at that time plus 3 of us. Our friendly waitress Andrea said she would still offer us... More

Thanks for the "almost four stars" and our apologies for the price for the fish not being clear. If you will send your address to info@flinthillva.com, we will send you a gift certificate for the difference. The tomatoes are from our garden, so they should have tasted better. More

Enjoyed great steak, crab cakes, appetizers, desserts, and drinks. Lots of fresh, local ingredients. Each dish prepared with lots of attention to detail. Generous portions. Save room for dessert. They also are made either in house or locally. Attentive service with a smile. Beautiful setting and pleasant ambiance.

The Flint Hill Public House is one of our favorite "Go-To" destinations when friends come to visit and want to take a drive through the countryside, so my husband and I, and sometimes me by myself or with a friend, have been there for both lunch and dinner almost two dozen times over the past 10 years. When we first... More

We haven't been there for almost a year even though we are 15 minutes away. We simply enjoy cooking at home. Tonight my wife almost insisted we go out and it was a great choice! Erin was our server and she recommended the citrus salad with goat cheese which was very fresh and delicious. I had the filet and ordered... More
