After a wine tasting and purchase, my family and I enjoyed a picnic at one of the gazebos. It is a beautiful place. I look forward to going again in the summer when they have live bands.

We're happy that you visited, enjoyed, and reviewed - thanks! Our Sunday Sounds live music on the winery courtyard begins June 4 and continues each Sunday through October. And this year we're expanding our Wine, Beer, and Brats to a full festival at the Nancy Morrisette Festival Field on September 30 in addition to our Black Dog Americana Festival on... More

Service can be slow but if you are going to eat a meal in a beautiful location such as this place, just relax and enjoy. Their wines run the gamut from $5-$22 a glass and you should be able to find something drinkable. Small menu changes frequently. I had the bison meatloaf, which was a special, and a glass of... Thank you for the review. I'm glad you enjoyed your meal with us. During the winter months, our restaurant is only open Friday-Sunday. But the winter views are some of the best. On a clear day, you can see for upwards of 50 miles. Interested in knowing the names of the mountain peaks you see in the distance? Ask your... More

I hosted five family member for lunch on 12/30/2016 and it was very good as have been previous meals. The service by Gabriel added to the dining experience.

The food was excellent, however the service was not. We had reservations and at check in we were informed our waitress needed extra time and we would be seated shortly. After 20 minutes we were seated. Appears our waitress was the only one working this side of the restaurant. My husband had to get a spoon for my meal because... More

I am sorry that we failed to provide you our customary excellent service. If you visited last week, we did suffer multiple wait staff absences due to illness. Of course, that does nothing to change your experience, but I do appreciate your suggestion to be informed of staff shortages in advance. I will share that suggestion with restaurant management. I... We visited here about 7 years ago for the first time and come back now several times a year. The staff and management could not be nicer. We love to attend the wine festivals in the summer and the wines are wonderful. Try them in the tasting room and buy a bottle to drink on the decks while you admire... More

We visited for Sunday brunch to celebrate our anniversary. We have lived in the area for several years and this is our first trip to this restaurant. My husband's comment was "you can book us a reservation here any time you like". We will definitely go back to try lunch and dinner.

Stopped in to chateau morrisette during a convertible ride through the Blue Ridge. Way above our expectations . The views are dramatic and the building lovely. Highlights were the Shrimp and Grits. At lunch for only $17.00 you get a nice serving of at least 6 shrimp, Tasso ham AND andouille sausage. The wild mushroom soup off the day and... More

Thank you for the very nice review and I'm glad you enjoyed your visit to Chateau Morrisette. Our restaurant menu changes seasonally to allow us to grow as much produce as possible. We also try to use local providers as much as possible. The Shrimp and Grits are one of our best sellers and tends to stay on the menu... More

Wonderful place for wine, but no longer a place to order Shrimp and Grits. After years of traveling to Chateau Morrisette for wine and a luncheon of shrimp and grits, this year cured us of wanting to return. The recipe changed (according to the hostess) and portions were mini. Don't look at the website picture because it is nothing like... More

Thank you for taking the time to review our restaurant. I'm sorry the Shrimp and Grits were not to your liking. The lunch portion is smaller than the dinner portion and priced accordingly ($17 at lunch and $27 at dinner). Shrimp and Grits as an entree has been off the menu for almost a year. It was just reintroduced this... More

My wife and I stopped by for lunch on the way from Blacksburg to Charlotte. Beautiful drive down route 8 through Floyd and along the BRP. We reserved through Open Table for a 1000 pt bump! We shared the crab cake small plate along with the chicken sandwich on pretzel bread. Both were pretty good but there were a lot... More

Thanks for visiting us. We hope you are able to come back soon and try more of our menu, which changes seasonally with the yield of our kitchen craft beds, estate garden, and local and regional farmer and grower community. Morrisette Farms sauces, dressings, salsas, and bruschetta are available in the Tasting Room and on our website. More

Chateau Morrisette offers fine dining in a casual setting. Located along the Blue Ridge Parkway in Floyd County, Virginia, Chateau Morrisette sits at 3500 feet with spectacular views of the valley below. Chef Cooper Brunk creates authentic Appalachian-French fusion cuisine designed to pair with the wide assortment of wines produced in our cellar. Guest favorites include Our Dog Blue paired with Bacon-wrapped Shrimp with Grits, herb crusted sirloin with Petit Verdot, lamb paired with Chambourcin, and our Chateau Filet paired with Merlot. Vegetarians enjoy a variety of dishes as well. With two estate gardens, Chateau Morrisette provides seasonal offerings to insure quality and freshness. Guest may dine by the fire in the colder months or outside on our terrace in the warmer months. And of course, a visit to Chateau Morrisette is not complete without a stop in our Tasting Room for a sampling of our wines and a little shopping for unique gifts and accessories.
