I rate the food at this pub highly. The sea bass fillet with buttered capers, green beans, roasted fennel and new potatoes was delicious. The cheeseboard was the best I have ever had with a wonderful selection of interesting cheeses beautifully served with a small...More

Came here for dinner on a Tuesday night and luckily the sun was shining so the setting was gorgeous(see photo). Friendly service and good choices on the menu. Shared a platter which was standard pub fare but the scallop starters were exquisite.

The lady who greeted us was so rude we didn’t even bother ordering. Plenty of other nice pubs locally with friendly staff.More

Haven’t been here since 2019 (thanks to COVID). The food was excellent and the service was spot on. The menu was varied and they were more than happy to cater for Gluten free - thank you!

Lovely location. Booked here for 2 Jun 21 and was so impressed we went the following evening too. Great food and great efficient service from the staff. Thoroughly recommend to anyone visiting the area.

Beautiful pub, says family friendly so visited with 4 adults and 5 children, appallingly uninterested staff, grumpy unprofessional young male server. We went with well behaved children and he moaned at them standing on tree stump and generally a rude git. If I was without...More

Thank you for your comments. If your so called 'well behaved children' hadn't been climbing all over the very old tree stump the 'grumpy unprofessional young male server' who happens to be the Manager wouldn't have needed to request that your 'well behaved children' remained...More

Delicious food at the Royal Oak! The chef always has a creative, tasteful menu using fresh seasonal food and it’s presented very well. Their Covid 19 procedures are very responsible. The staff are great and welcoming. Everything I needed was taken care of. They are...More

We have visited this pub for lunch on many occasions and have never been disappointed. This was our first visit since lockdown was lifted for indoor dining. The pub was spotlessly clean and tidy and looked freshly decorated. Everything was spacious, comfortable and very well...More

Left feeling very disappointed with the rude staff. I actually think he may even be the general manager which is even more unacceptable. A shame as it’s a lovely looking pub but let down by rude and miserable staff.

Hello Sam, The Royal Oak is very dog friendly in all bar areas, front and back gardens but not our restaurant. We look forward to welcoming you and your four legged friend(s) very soon.
