It’s become a bit of a tradition for us to have our first Christmas meal of the season at The Woodman, near Claverley. The food and service were excellent - as ever. We’ve noticed a tendency for some restaurants to reduce the size of portions....NOT HERE! The turkey came with three vegetables and the usual accompaniments. A delicious Christmas pudding rounded things off. Go and visit. Have a treat.More

A hopeful and last minute drop in as I was passing with a friend… A lovely friendly pub with great food - and they altered a dish to meet my celiac needs!

I arrived yesterday for lunch and ordered a large glass of Merlot and a half of Diet Coke. I was charged on my switch card £14.45. When I questioned the price I was told I’d been charged for Malbec and not Merlot. I was given...a refund in “Cash” I have never had any refund on any purchase return to me in coins when it’s been paid on a card!!!!! Quite wrong. I ordered the loin of Lamb with dauphinois potatoes. The meal was not served with dauphinois potatoes but pave potatoes. I questioned the potatoes and the waitress told me that they were definitely dauphinois. Sorry - I am a foodie, I know my potatoes and they were definitely not dauphinois. The other members of the party remarked that the vegetables were undercooked and inedible. The lamb was tough and the whole course extremely poor. The waitress offered me an alternative but I declined.More

What a lovely experience, the atmosphere of the restaurant is amazing, the staff are friendly and helpful. The food well where do you start, full of flavour quality, quantity is excellent and cooked to perfection. I would recommend the black pudding or cowder starter. Steak...was divine and the homemade ice-cream was heavenly.More

We booked to come here again for a family Sunday Lunch. It'd been a while since dining at this restaurant, & I'm delighted to say that the standards are exactly the same as our last visit. From the selection of chosen Sunday roasts, to the...salmon fillet, were all very tasty & cooked perfectly. The staff were attentive & friendly, which made our whole dining experience here most enjoyable. We look forward to returning again in the future, . .. Thank You.😊More

We have been using The Woodman now since it first reopened 10 years ago, always a lovely dining experience. Today we went for Sunday lunch as it’s always fabulous but today was exceptional We sat in the garden where Marie greeted us and bought us...our drinks and menu, soup of the day was pea and tarragon which my husband chose he then decided on the fish special which was hake with a prawn and samphire butter, I chose the whitebait with homemade tartare sauce and then roast pork. My husband said his main course was one of the nicest fish dishes he had eaten in a long time, we finished off by sharing a mixed fruit pavlova which was divine. All the food is so fresh and sourced locally Before we left head chef Tom and Grant came out to chat and see if we had enjoyed our food which we thought was a really lovely gesture If you have not yet experienced a dining experience at The Woodman then please take it from us you will not be disappointedMore

This is an outstanding venue. There is ample parking and a comfortable outside eating area. The restaurant it self is very well designed and attractive. The staff are exceptionally well trained, courteous and welcoming. The menu caters for all tastes and the food itself is...outstanding. The wine list is wide ranging and reasonably priced. A tremendous dining experience and somewhere which we can recommend with confidence. Well done to the chef and all the staff.More

We came as a family of four adults and were welcomed at the door, shown to our table and offered the menus. Very few beers on offer but large wine and spirit menu. We ordered our meals and chatted while waiting for the starters, these...came in a reasonable time, the soup was very hot and enjoyable, as was the smoked salmon duo, the black pudding starter was enjoyed but was rather small. the pan fried chicken was lovely and very large, i shared it out, the fish, gammon and tagliatelle were also enjoyed. Good service and pleasant staff made this a great evening out. A problem with the card machine meant we had to find cash between us but no ones fault, these things happen. We will be back.More

This continues to be an excellent venue. The standard of the food is superb. I had whitebait to start with and then a cod fillet cooked in herbs with crushed mashed potato, green vegetables and a tomato sauce. This was first rate. Service was prompt...and friendly. Ample car parking.More

Another great meal at The Woodman. Standard of food and service was excellent - as ever. Top favourites were the Steak and Kidney Pie - delicious pastry and a hefty filling. The Cod and Hake were also great. Enville Ale well kept. They had Black...Sheep too. Good choice of desserts. We enjoyed The treacle pudding and custard. A big thanks to Jasmine who was attentive and pleasant. She made us feel welcome and that our custom was valued. We will be back.More
