Been going there for years, but disappointed by management's lack of concern. I left a message regarding my wife's unfortunate experience with food poisoning, and it took a month for the manager to get back to me - he should not have wasted his time. All I got were insincere platitudes and apology - not even an offer for a... More

We're ready to make the Joshua Wilton House an tradition: two times a year, as we travel to and from the South and the Berkshires. This is an extraordinary establishment, with food and staff that match the elegance of its Queen Anne Victorian mansion. The menu is not extensive but quite imaginative, taking advantage of local produce and the season.... More

A gothic mansion with a fine dining restaurant that was quite full the night we were there. I thought ushering you into the bar where you had no choice but to order a drink a trifle odd- a choice of bar or table would have been nice. Anyway, the mojito needed toning down- not the normal style we would be... More

I had the pleasure at dining at this restaurant on 17th October for my 5 year anniversary. I felt compelled to review this place because I had such an amazing time. The server Aaron was the best server I have ever had the pleasure of interacting with. Fine dining is not just delicious food but the ambviance and the service... More

Our room, #5, was just OK, nothing fabulous. I was definitely not impressed by the glob of long black hair that floated to the surface when I filled the bath tub....apparently it had been on the drain covering. JMU Frat parties that were very loud were just 1/2 block away....I realize JW can't control their neighbors, but the noise from... More

My wife and I visited the Joshua Wilton House in Harrisonburg on a Friday evening at about the beginning of the evening rush. We had reservations and were seated immediately. We parked at the Union Bank next door which is probably okay after the bank closed for the day. We both ordered a cocktail. My wife had a Zona Cosmo... More

Wow! An elegant large, old Victorian turned into an excellent restaurant. My wife and I stopped on a trip and decided to try JH and we very glad we did. We got there early for a glass of wine in a cool little bar. Good wine list. We got there on a Thursday which turned out to be "Date Night"... More

We ate here as part of our overnight stay at the Inn. Nice list of cocktails. Pork tenderloin and salmon was delicious. My husband asked if he could substitute broccoli for kale as he didn't think he liked kale. Not only did they make the substitution, but they brought him a portion of kale as well, in hopes of changing... More

We took a family of eight out to celebrate an anniversary. The food was very good, but VERY expensive. Our bill was over $600! Our waiter was good, and the atmosphere was very nice. Seven of us had steak as our entree, and they were excellent, but they were $35 each, so they should have been! Of course, we didn't... More

Located in an elegantly restored Victorian mansion, Joshua Wilton House is within walking distance of historic downtown Harrisonburg and the campus of James Madison University, offering guests quiet charm and gracious living in the heart of the Shenandoah Valley. The Restaurant offers a unique and exquisite a la carte menu that changes with the seasons, along with an extensive selection of beers and an award-winning wine list. Featured are the food products of many small local farms and producers who supply our kitchen with high quality ingredients that simply cannot be found elsewhere. Chef's Tom French and Brian Bogan work together to create food that highlights Virginia's southern heritage while adding a French influence to the dish. During the warmer months, seating is available on the outdoor brick patio. Arrive early and enjoy a cocktail in our lounge before dinner.
