We moved into the area in February 2020, the first thing I like to do is look at the local pub before choosing a property within a close community to gauge the welcome you receive. I really cannot fault the welcome that myself and the...family received, in fact we went back a few times before settling on buying the property. The manager and local community welcomed us with open arms, when I read on here some of the reviews that mention having that "stranger from out of town feeling" and subsequently "being ignored" is absolute rubbish. My whole family have been looked after and we have been in the community for 2 months now and feel like we have lived there all of our lives, maybe people should not be so quick to judge. Keep up the good work Keith you are doing a great job and cannot wait to get back there once the lockdown has been lifted...darts practice is coming on well hahahaMore

Dropped in whilst passing for a drink and a sandwich. Accommodating although it was a bit dated. Had a little of the visitors out of town vibe and felt a little uncomfortable but drinks were good and the food was ok.

Fish is always the test for a restaurant. Invariably it’s over cooked. Not here. Have had Maria’s fresh fish Thursday and maybe Friday 6 times this year and every time (..and I mean EVERYTIME) it was cooked to perfection. Brilliant. Juicy, translucent cooked right on...point. A lovely lady and a great cook. Flash it isn’t; tasty and delicious it is! Keith (the manager) ain’t a bad lad either!!!! .. considering hes a “gooner”.More

Have visited here 4 times this year and have felt so welcome that we feel like locals. Great drinks, Keith even remembers what we drink. Fantastic food by Maria especially the scotch eggs! Well worth a visit. We will be back 😊

don't even have the energy to list all that was poor here but certainly wouldn't recommend you pop in for a quick sandwich and a beer!

We were looking for a quiet lunch out.. this little pub did not disappoint.. parking.. warm welcome.. plenty of tables.. a limited menu but containing all the traditional fare.. I had Ham, egg and chips and Mrs P had very fresh fish and chips.. all...was as advertised and served well.. some might like greater choice but my view is that a smaller menu with everything cooked and presented perfectly means a great meal! Reasonable charges and great beer.. highly recommended!!!More

Hi. I'm a little confused by your review. You mention value for money... you had 3 courses each plus 2 rounds of drinks each. For 4 people your bill came to just over £100. I'm not how that represents poor value. If the food was...More

A fantastic setting - sat out the front - very quiet. We were looking at the menu, and the cook came out and heard us and offered fish and chips which was great. A real gem of a pub with fantastic beer garden out the...back - everyone very friendlyMore
