Visited here for dinner one evening and found ourselves in one of the various dining areas...in this case where there was a singer/guitar player. Plenty of items on the menu to choose from. Service was good. Wish I could say the food was delicious, but...More

We stopped almost accidentally at this charming Shenandoah Valley inn, in an equally charming town rich with history. Whether it's actually the longest continuously operating inn in the US is up for debate, but the owner/operator is delightful and knowledgeable. Don't miss the original tavern...More

Wayside Inn has been on business since 1797! It started as a local tavern, then added 24 or 26 guest rooms. Each room is filled with antiques and has a different decor. There is not enough space to list all its wonders. I just had...More

My husband and I really enjoyed the Wayside Restaurant's Easter buffet yesterday. Excellent food and service in an incredibly relaxing atmosphere. Their Menu: Leg of Lamb, Carved Apricot Glazed Ham, Steamship Round, Smothered Chicken, Baked Haddock, Soup, huge assortment of Salads, Vegetables & Homemade Desserts,...More

We stayed here in one of the lovely rooms and had an excellent breakfast. The inn has a lot of varied artwork and parts of it date back to 1798. The owners are lovely folks, and have an amazing property on their hands

We stayed at the Wayside so we ate there on night. It was not crowded the night we ate there. The staff was friendly and the service was quick. The food was excellent and they had numerous specials.

I love this place! There's no other place like it. I can imagine what it must have been like back in the 1700s as a busy Inn. They've maintained the original wood work and the decor is true to the historical time period. The wonderful...More

We had both dinner and breakfast there. The Virginia ham at breakfast was excellent. For dinner it was the stuffed flounder and chicken pot pie. Both very good. I ordered the peanut soup because it is a house specialty. When it didn't come before the...More

The quality of the food depends on who is manning the kitchen. Sometimes very good and sometimes average. A little dated.

We totally enjoyed our lunch at this historic old inn. My family wanted to eat here because of the history. First off, the service was excellent. The food is delicious. But the best part is the old inn. The staff invited us to tour the...More

Dine in the Colonial Days. Historic good taste is the specialty of the Inn, with authentic Regional American Cuisine available with advanced notice to larger groups in one of our antique filled dining rooms.

This week we're open on Friday at 4 PM and Saturday & Sunday at noon with a pub-style menu. We'll be closed from Monday through Wednesday during the winter.

We plan to expand our dining options to include a Sunday Brunch and other dining opportunities but the tavern is the only dining currently open.

If you have a group of 15 or more we will cater to your dining needs with options available for any budget.

For cocktails, the Coachyard Lounge welcomes you to relax where horse-drawn carriages once entered the inn.
