Sometimes it's good to complain when a place doesn't worth a visit, but I feel it's also very important to let people know when you've found a little gem ! Talking about little gems, Happy Turtle in Koh Chang (Bailan beach) is one of them. Curries are the best I've had in Koh Chang, the atmosphere is very nice, music... More

Went in for a drink and wanted to pay for the drinks at the bar. The owner said you can pay later if you wish as you might want another drink, that was fine with us. After a long day traveling from ban chang to koh chang I just wanted to sit and have a couple of beers and head... More

First, we tried more than 6 different Massaman and Panaeng curries on Koh Chang. This one is the best we found, by far. I lived one year in Bangkok, joined cooking classes and had curries on samui and so on...The curries at happy turtle were cooked in traditional thai style and were not changed for the westener's taste. That's what... More

Delicious traditional thai cooking and flair at moderat prizes. Must have for guests, who prefer good local food to fries and burger.

We visited severeal times, both for breakfast and dinner. They make excellent thai food! And the coffee is the best in the area.

Me and my wife visited on honeymoon as reviews said food was good. Service was ok, not quite up to the Thai standard, but then it does have a more laid back feel to the place. Not the most romantic place for couples, but again, the food was good, so we enjoyed it.

We had diner and breakfast here a couple of times. Breakfast was a perfect option because we did not want to do the full hotel breakfast every morning. Thai food was excellent. We had several currys en if you are a fan of pad Thai or the fried rice (kao pad) then you must try it here!!

Happy Turtle offers a good mix of western food and Thai dishes. Their breakfast selection is very good and they offer a choose your own to create a personal breakfast. Sadly, the island-famous barista couldn't perform his magic as the coffee machine was broken - however, a new one has since been delivered. We had a nice breakfast here whilst... More

Like other reviewers, we did not appreciate the attitude of the "owner", yet another farang on Koh Chang that thinks he is soooo special and who does not handle critique well at all. We were agressively ordered to take off our shoes before we had a chance to take them off. There is a big sign bragging that this place... More

Happy turtle is located in Bailan bay on Koh Chang. We offer you real Thai food (if you ask for spicy it will be..), we also have a nice mix of western food.In our bar we have nice fresh coffee, cocktail/drinks , ice cream, milkshakes, fruit shakes. We use no MSG in the cooking and everything is prepared from scratch when orderd,,, so with a buzy restaurant you might have to wait a bit for the food. we think it is well worth it
