We were classic "passing trade" not sure whether we would lunch out or go back to base for lunch. Wandering (aimlessly) through the streets of such a lovely town, on a sunny September day puts you in a reeeaaalllyyy relaxed frame of mind and we passed by the cheaper noisier restaurant next door to find this little gem, with hardly... Lovely outlook over a small village square, four of us stopped for lunch. Two of us had beef burgers, one had mussels and I had a fish burger. Everyone else really enjoyed their food, but mine was pretty ordinary. Service was friendly but a little slow - the place got busier and busier after we arrived.

Nice setting, friendly staff. Kids loved the gourmet burgers which is rare. My wife was enthousiastic about the mouclade and I was overwhelmed over the fricasee of squid and squid risotto. If you're in the neighbourhood, don't hesitate ;-)

good range of French food with a bonus of an extensive ice crème which available outside of restaurant hours. A good well shaded terrace opposite an attractive garden area in front of the Town Hall .. Courteous & efficient service .Good food

In the town centre, nice atmosphere and relaxed. Nice and tasty, quick service. Only downside: small portions, especially those for the kids.

Not the cheapest but very good quality and service. The menu is not huge but with enough variety and the daily specials add more too. Cosy and attractive location - well worth a visit.

We stopped for lunch here, and it was very good. I had the grilled sardines with frites. The sardines were perfect and so were the chips and salad. Coral had a tomato and cheese salad which was also very good. We had a pichet of rose, which finished off the meal perfectly. All for only 24 Euros. The service was... More

One of the best kept secrets in France is the fact that the Ile d'Oleron offers exactly the same climate and conditions as it more renowned (and chi-chi) near neighbour the Ile de Re. You may not find Louis Vuitton and Hermes in shops but you do get miles long beaches, good hotels and campsites and the wonderful surfing waves... More

We dined twice in this charming bistrot which is in a cobbled pedestrian area in the heart of the village. The food is beautifully presented and of good quality. The menu centres mainly on local seafood (mussels in particular) but there are other options. Their crême brûlée is a wow. The service is friendly and attentive and the decor is... More

Spent a lovely weekend in Ile d'Oleron, lunch here was very good. Moules mouclade was excellent. Good service, shame it was closed when we went back on the Sunday.
