Had a lunch there on a halfway of route four. Quite good meat balls and exceptional grilled with cheese aubergines. Bravo!

This is just a great place to have lunch or dinner. Anna (the owner - old lady) was really friendly even tho she could not speak anything other than local language. I had her special zucchini dish (do not remember the name) - it was really "the best" - could not find anything like it anywhere on the different islands.... More

We are three Canadian women, who took a Greek cooking lesson, with Anna and Evgenia, at the tavern. A really unique and wonderful experience, which I would recommend. We had so much fun, thanks to these two great women...who introduced us to another side of Greece. Moni is beautiful.

Talk about off the beaten path. We stopped at Pefco on a tour of the interior of Naxos. There is no way that we would find this on our own, but our tour guide knew this place well. We were served family style and each dish was better than the next. Real local cuisine. If you are on the road,... More

The food was authentic local home cooked and farm grown. If you are on this part of the island then you must give it a try. The Cheese pie and other home made food makes you feel like your in your mom's kitchen

Moni is a beautiful l village to visit. The women are weavers and there is an outstanding Byzantine Church nearby that is kept open. The mountain view are spectacular. But even so its worth a trip just to visit this small restaurant. Here you will get authentic Naxian food. Its all fresh and homemade. You will feel like you have... More

I think saying that the food is the best would be a lie, it was just ok. The rest however is a honest and worth experience: - Ana is a true greek lady who I think has no idea why all of the sudden so many people stops by... her amazement when people continued to arrive was priceless! - Everyone... We came here while touring the mountains of Naxos on atv and after seeing some of the great reviews. The owner, Ana, and her family source all the products from their local farm, including the wine. Ana was a complete sweetheart and did her best given the language barrier to help us order. Through lots of pointing and gestures, we... More

OK, it's a bit off the beaten track (outside the mountain village of Moni - make sure you go to the village itself for lovely woven handicraft made by local women on their heirloom), but then, all authentic experiences are. To Pefko is a tiny tavern of maybe five tables, where Anna cooks real home-made greek food. Her fried potatoes... More
