Nice restaurant, very convenient and eccelent view. Food is just average and limited choice. Prices high VS. quality. That´s all about it. You pay for the view

Dinner for four with a great view back across the river to Ribeira lit up at night. Efficient if not overly friendly staff, reasonable prices and a decent wine list but the real highlight for me was the "tripas" - tripe cooked with white beans and chourico. I appreciate this may not be to everyone's taste but it was one... More

This is a very familiar restaurant in the area. I spent the new year´s eve there with my family. The sparkling wine was cold and good as well, the food was well prepared and served. The service is really good. And the view of Porto from Gaia is amazing. The location speaks for it self. I definitely recommend the place... More

The glass building seems like a weird thing to be in, and I would prefer the beach chairs outside the building, but this café/restaurant is a nice place to either have a nice drink or a lunch while watching the boats go by along the Douro river. No-nonsense food and service, straight to the case and that is what you... More

We went twice and left twice without getting anything. There were not many guests, but the waiters ignored us, even we tryed to get their atencion. Several tryed to pay,but had to wait for a long time. After about half an hour we left, same both times. We will never be back. The one star is only for the view... More

Food was uninteresting, 4 people requested monkfish rice and went hungry as very little food was served. Creme brulée was lumpy

The only positive aspect was the sight. The other side of the river Douro, seen from Gaia, is fabulous. However, this does not depend on the restaurant. Everything else was awful. - Big food platters without any presentation care (more like a cafeteria or a dinners's course) - Confined space - Average service - Some food with questionable hygienic quality... Tonight we dined at this restaurant and loved it. The staff were fantastic, in particular Manuel who went out of his way to make sure we had a great night. The food was delicious, a good sized helping and cooked to perfection. Not overly priced for such good food and service in a beautiful restaurant overlooking the river and Porto.... More

After a long morning of visiting Port shops and tasting rooms up hills it was time to rest. A table along the river close to the bridge and a nice view of Porto. A light lunch of Tuna and Black Eye peas and Roasted Pork with oil olive and garlic. A glass of local wine to relax. I was treated... More

*Note: there is another D. Tonho on the other side of the river which is slightly more expensive. I don't know if the two are affiliated. This glass-sided restaurant has an enviable location directly opposite the Ribeira. With the sun going down silhouetting the port boats it's a fantastic location for a romantic dinner in Porto. It was quiet when... More
