The waiters aren’t very nice. We asked for recommendations and they just told us it’s all Portuguese food. Obviously??? Then he walked away immediately to help another table. When 3 British girls came in, he gave them a whole introduction to the menu, telling them...he will help them if they have any questions, again something he did not do for us. The food was fine but I was very turned off by the service.More

I had dinner here a couple of times on the outside patio, which was a lot more beautiful and relaxing than the more chaotic Porto side of the river. The views of the Douro River are truly beautiful. As a first time visitor to Portugal,...I asked my waiter for recommendations, and was served with an assortment of delicious appetizers and entrees along with pairings of wine and port. The portions were generous, and a really great value. Except for the ribeye, which was jumbo and I think meant to serve four people LOL The host / owner was very gracious and attentive, although the restaurant was always extremely busy (I didn't need to wait more than 10 min for an outside table). Brownie points for their adorable mayor, Manelita, a very friendly and adorable doggo who will happily give you your fix of belly rubs! Thank you for making me feel at home.More

We arrived a bit before the rush, so got a table with no problem. however we noticed at the peak the this was the only restaurant with a queue, with mainly Portuguese voices. I had the Francesinha - had seen this on many different menus...in Porto and was curious. It is a sandwich with 5 different types of meat inside, covered with cheese, baked and then covered in gravy. Probably never going to be a delicate culinary delight - but surprisingly tasty. Squid ink pasta was also very good.More

This restaurant is a little different than the other more commercialized places on the riverfront. Fills up quick . Waiters are great and food comes out fast ate here twice , enough said.

The view, the service, the food! Everything was 10/10. We even requested where to buy one of their wine coolers (old milk jars) and were given directions. It was a nice touch to see Manel Jr. overseeing the restaurant and chatting with guests. Well done!

The place was recommended to us by our friend who moved to Gaia last year. We received a very warm welcome and nothing was a problem (as the place has no baby change blankets were organised on the toilet floor to make it easier for...me to change our son). We opted for the chorizo, alheira and bread with cheese. All were delicious and arrived promptly (not at the same time just as we were warned). My husband’s favourite was the dulce de leche dessert served in a jar - a lovely sweet liquid with some nuts added for texture. We even received a shot of Porto with the bills which was a great surprise. We went back 2 days later,More

Recommended by the clerk at our hotel in Vila da Gaia, we thought we'd give it a try. The atmosphere outside is lively and the view is waterfront and lit up Porto. Ahrimp woth garlic was very good. We dipped our bread in the leftover...sauce (olive oil). The most delicious empanadas I've ever tasted. Pork or beef, you can't go wrong. We also tried rhe cheese in a bread bowl. It was quite heavy, but delicious. The service qas attentive and pleasant.More

This restaurant was recommended by the staff at the Yateman Hotel. They said this is where the locals go. We had an excellent meal starting off with a pitcher of sangria. We ordered the octopus appetizer and clams. They both were amazing. Soak the amazing...bread in the marinade. 😀More

Usually in Portugal at 19:00, but I think you don't need a reservation, just seat and wait to be served.
