We have visited this restaurant a couple of years ago, how things change! I ordered a rib-eye steak along with a bottle of 2010 Vina Sol Spanish wine. My family had chicken dishes which were average, with my wife ordering a fish dish that was quoted in the menu as "unbelievably delicious", it was not. My steak was cooked on... More

If you want to try any grill dish advertised you need to go after 6pm. Unfortunately fo us we went on the afternoon however we still enjoyed a meal of oxtail. For 2 beers and 2 glasses of wine, we shared oxtail with french fries (very big portion) and potatoes bravatas (large portion) for 35 euros. The waiter was friendly... More

We stopped here for a late lunch and shared the 5 mixed tapas with a free drink and then bought a further drink and garlic bread. Total cost just under €20. All of it was tasty and enough for 2 to share. The staff were friendly and welcoming. We sat in the patio area which had a heater. (On previous... More

..... steaks that I have ever eaten. I ordered the Argentinian sirloin medium rare. It was delicious and perfectly cooked. Other family members had the oxtail (bit disappointingly) and fish stew (also delicious). Service and staff were first class. This place is well worth a visit.

Shame we were very disappointed with this restaurant. The food we found very average and a bit bland . Perhaps we hit it on an off day. I always think you should try things for yourself anyway, we all have different tastes.

We ended up in this restaurant by accident since it was a bit chilly and we wanted to sit inside. Very tasty tapas, I think it was five, was served with a drink for 12.50 EUR, quite a good price! Friendly staff and a cosy environment made our lunch enjoyable!

Just dropped in for a hot drink on a winter visit to Mijas. Very warm welcome from staff lovey inviting decor. Family and I enjoyed tea coffee and delicious cakes, I had tha tarta manzana(apple tart) with a pot of unusual Pakistani tea, others had coffees and chocolate cake all delicious. Quite expensive though by Spanish standards at over 30euros.

We noticed this restaurant by chance because of a friendly street cat who was being fed outside and we started chatting with the woman about it. The Secret Garden was at the back of the building and covered with a transparent roof which was appreciated on a bitterly cold, wet day, as were the heaters. We shared a very good... More

Nice garden but staff act like second hand car sales people.... their only goal is you to order asap and after that service is gone... Staff only interested in selling meat. They even lie about the weight of the steaks (in their advance of course). The quality of the meat is fine but none of our steaks where grilled according... More

Stumbled on this place on a rainy November day. We were shown to a lovely covered outside area, covered with a canvas which gave it a cosy almost bohemian feel. Drinks and food were lovely, staff attentive without being pushy. Unfortunately the rain didn't allow us to see the garden.

Description
Aroma Café & Secret Garden is a truly unique restaurant on the Costa del Sol. Firstly the restaurant is located in an old house dating to 1872 with many nooks and crannies to discover. Within its walls a whole world opens, starting with arguably Mijas´ most beautiful Andaluz Patio. Follow the Patio to its end and let a whitewashed passage guide you to our gem on the crown, the Secret Garden. Here you will find Mijas as it was a century ago, an enchanted forest of olive, orange, fig and loquat trees. Stroll to the end of this sprawling garden and you will discover an ancient ´water mine´ dating back to the Moorish times. In our garden you will enjoy Argentinean BBQ prepared right before your eyes into the early mornings on warm summer nights. Our celebrity Chef from the Canary Islands meanwhile prepares sumptuous dishes which will tempt you to come back time and again until all that is offered has been tasted! Now just come discover for yourself, our friendly team awaits you!!!
