Stumbled on this place on a rainy November day. We were shown to a lovely covered outside area, covered with a canvas which gave it a cosy almost bohemian feel. Drinks and food were lovely, staff attentive without being pushy. Unfortunately the rain didn't allow us to see the garden.

Dined here last twice year the food and atmosphere were amazing. returned this year to find it has trebled in size and IMO lost its intimacy and no longer friendly and family focused ,it does have a nice chill out area, where you can enjoy a pre-meal cocktail on the night we visited this year there was a b list... Set in the old town of Fuengirola and on 'Fish Alley' run and owned by a 'Street wise Scot' the service and food is extremely good and probably one of the best on the alley. Its a 'lets eat and go' sort of place as the night life near by is colossal. The restaurant is set on the first 100... More

Visiting Mijas from Canada with family. Went for Birthday dinner and what a wonderful gem this was. Food was delicious, plentiful and reasonably priced. Wait staff was friendly and entertaining even though restaurant busy. A lovely 3 hour meal with no pressure to leave. A must while in Mijas!

Had a birthday celebration at the aroma. Hadn't booked - but were accommodated with drinks outside whilst we waited for a table. The food, service and atmosphere were excellent even though there was a large party in too. Would highly recommend this exceptional restaurant

The one star is because I couldn't give none! I've been coming here for many years. Always enjoyed the food and a chat with staff who remembered me from previous visits. This time however the food was dreadful. Tasteless tough chicken skewers and pasta in a sauce that tasted as if it had come out of a jar. The waitress... More

If you are going to Mijas pueblo then this little place is a must go to! Great tapas at reasonable prices. Patatas bravas the best I've eaten. There are seats on pavement and a big restaurant plus a garden area (hence the name) which is just gorgeous to sit in. It has lime and lemon trees growing there. Real Mediterranean... More

We had a wonderful meal. There were four of us. We had: the chicken; salmon; pasta tagliatelle; and asparagus crepe. All enjoyed their meal and group voted for five stars.

Tried this place out based on the good reviews here. Lovely location hidden in the back of a busy Mijas street. Big garden with lovely trees to sit out under when eating. Tried the steaks, sirloin and fillet both very tasty. Be careful, medium in Spain is the equivalent of our rare steak so if you don't like your meat... More

Visited for a second time this year with friends. Having sat at the front last time it was time to try the secret garden... After being led through the restaurant we arrived in the garden and wow what an awesome setting. It was a really nice atmosphere and really recommend giving it a go. I had the Spanish steak and... Description
Aroma Café & Secret Garden is a truly unique restaurant on the Costa del Sol. Firstly the restaurant is located in an old house dating to 1872 with many nooks and crannies to discover. Within its walls a whole world opens, starting with arguably Mijas´ most beautiful Andaluz Patio. Follow the Patio to its end and let a whitewashed passage guide you to our gem on the crown, the Secret Garden. Here you will find Mijas as it was a century ago, an enchanted forest of olive, orange, fig and loquat trees. Stroll to the end of this sprawling garden and you will discover an ancient ´water mine´ dating back to the Moorish times. In our garden you will enjoy Argentinean BBQ prepared right before your eyes into the early mornings on warm summer nights. Our celebrity Chef from the Canary Islands meanwhile prepares sumptuous dishes which will tempt you to come back time and again until all that is offered has been tasted! Now just come discover for yourself, our friendly team awaits you!!!
