I visited the Winding Wheel with h my family on Friday 3rd March and arrived around 4pm. It was quite busy and took us a while to be served and for food to be brought out which is not an issue. However the apparent manager of the pub is the issue here! On her mobile phone behind the bar and... More

I tend to be an infrequent visitor to this pub due to the limited range of beers on offer. However I do drop in occasionally, more in hope than expectation. Despite having had a fairly recent refurbishment this has not been maintained and the internal and external fabric requires some TLC. Particularly annoying is the need to cross the smokers'... More

Used to be Ok this place, unfortunately no more. Food you want is either unavailable or what you get is poor quality. If you want a drink and aren't a regular prepare for a long wait at the bar, you will get one when the staff can be bothered to acknowledge you, More like a crèche with a drinks licence... More

Had a pre drink before eating out. Busy with the locals and families. New born baby's etc so very family oriented and community spirited. Staff member had messed up with some table reservations for a fifty shades of grey ladies reunion scene and we overheard her apologising about us sitting on one of the tables which had no sign on... Area management totally not in touch with requirements of locals, regular disputes, not family friendly from 9.30. Cheap bands booked not in local interest. New management appointed with no experience, local issues will only get worse. On way downhill.

I used to enjoy coming to this establishment, but since New Year they seem to be letting kids run freely around. I have got a family but I would not allow young children to be in a pub running around at ten at night. I saw kids playing in the toilets, a 8-10 year old boy glass collecting, yes GLASS... More
