I went here for an evening meal on a Monday evening. Lovely meal and great atmosphere. I had fish pie which was beautiful. Reasonably priced. I would visit here again.

Although it was very quiet we weren't welcomed when we got there. There were staff there, stood by us, but we were weren't acknowledged. We just stood in our heavy coats. We had to introduce ourselves to a guy who took us to our booked table in a perfunctory manner. No chat, no smiles although he was probably quite senior.... More

The Clog and Billycock has been a favourite of ours for some time. We do usually pop in on the off chance and manage to get a table. The Staff as usual are very pleasant and obliging, but on our most recent visit, the food left a little bit to be desired. The biggest let down were the chips. They... More

Me & wife just passing. Thought we try. Was collered as soon as we entered. Have we booked a table. No was my reply. Even though loads of seating in & out. Just wanted fish & chips. Or chicken wings. But no. Squid rings. In chocolate & lime jue. Disgusting. Don't class that as nice food. & price was extortionate.... More

We booked a table for 9 , with a mixture of adults and children. The service was always with a smile and they tried to make sure that we were served in time to visit the local pantomime. We had, in fact left an hour and a half for our food, Most of the food was fine, particularly the fish... More

Maybe I was wrong to expect more, but being part of the Nigel Haworth stable, I was a little underwhelmed on my recent visit. It was just after new year and the place was relatively busy for a lunch service, but the lack of attentive service was very prevalent. After a 20 min wait we managed to order both drinks... More

Visited on Boxing Day for a family meal. Food and service were good. The pub has been well renovated but in keeping with its origins. Good menu choice.

Visited earlier today and was greeted by a lovely young man named Joe, we hadn't booked however he found us a table straight away. Our drinks order was taken as seated, I ordered a pint of kingstone press cider and my partner a wainwright, both very fresh and tasted so good! For appetisers we order one of the bread selections... The Clog is my local pub, and I visit probably every two weeks throughout the year. By and large they are very good both in terms of food quality and service. However this seems to go to hell in a hand basket at Christmas. The food quality goes from good to OK, but the service goes from good to hopeless.... More

We came here with friends for an evening meal, instantly impressed on entering the restaurant ,nicely decorated, well furnished. We had pre booked and were shown to our table straight away. We ordered the sharing platter for starters ,everything on the platter was cooked perfectly, the mustard dips were very good. Taking into account the place was pretty busy service... More
