Used to go for lunch here a lot and was a regular spot with good beer and food. The menu has now drastically been reduced and is very basic.. ordered hot beef baton with (quote) lashings of gravy. Beef not hot with just onions no gravy and salad not up to usual standard. Tried 3 times for a beer and... More

The food arrived chicken kieve was sausage and mash , explained that we dud not order that , the waitress took it back and reordered it she then passed the food over the BABY... More

Pleasant service and lovely food I could be picky and say that the salmon on croute would have been better with the same potatoes and veg as the other main courses as there was just far too much green grocery on the plate but that's my personal choice I would say great value for money and a nice way to... We booked a table for 2 before going to a show at King George's Hall. The meal was awful: 3 lamb chops that were like leather and a few over cooked vegetables etc. We had starters too - they were nothing special. A 2 course meal cost £18 pp. We had a pint and two halves of shandy and went... More

Oh Dear!! We arrived at 17.30 before the 19.30 theatre start. I was worried 2 hours might not be long enough to fit the dinner in, how wrong could I be. We sat down had a chat and was asked 3 times if we were ready to order, we then had to go the bar for our drinks not very... More

Visited for lunch with 3 friends, we all had something different. I had the chicken, Bacon and cheese panini you got a small dish of salad and small basket of chips it was good and tasty but to me the salad would have been better on the plate like it used to be with the chips than 2 seperate dishes... We visited this venue for convenience prior to the Billy Oceanconcert. The staff are all very friendly and efficient and in our opinion this is Blakeys strength. It's like eating in a community centre or school dining hall because nothing has been done to separate the tables to make the experience a little more private and comfortable. Perhaps a few... More

Called in just before seeing Frankie Boyle. The lack of anywhere else meant this was a last resort. We both had Garlic Mushrooms. This was OK, mushrooms in some sort of soup with a few chunks of bread from a white loaf. I then had Fish and chips which was well cooked but a bit tasteless. My Beautiful Wife had... More

Had dinner here last night, and have got to say, wasn't impressed. The menu has little choice and is overpriced for what you get. The staff are all really friendly, but so disorganised, with 3 different waitresses coming over asking you the same questions. The soup was ok, but not as hot as it might have been, the mash on...
