We were visiting wilmslow for a wedding and had some time to kill. We had a couple of drinks and 5 tapas dishes... really reasonably priced and absolutely delicious, the nicest food I've had in a while, the crispy beef is amazing! Great service, relaxed...More

Been looking forward to visiting this place for some time to try some of the great range of beers. But my experience was so awful I have registered with Trip advisor to warn families to stay away. The front doors were open as it was...More

Thanks for the feedback. As you say, we specialise in having a great range of beers, so whilst families are welcome, they are far from our biggest market. We can’t stop people from smoking on the street, and we can’t stop that smell drifting in...More

I have been a fan of the Old Dancer for years, since moving to Wilmslow around 4 years ago; since they started stocking Orchard Pig cider, and with the option of prosecco on tap, my wife has become a convert too and we now enjoy...More

What a refreshing change to the majority of bars in Wilmslow. Great Ale selection in the heart of the town, (Tiny rebel 👍🏼) but instead of the usual designer clad brigade, you are likely to be surrounded by an eclectic mix of folk young and...More

Strange atmosphere and does not really compete with local eateries.Once a pole dancing bar and maybe should have stuck with that. Great Northern pies feature on the menu

I have been using this establishment since it first opened some 3 years ago. The beer available is absolutely first class, a changing scene on a regular basis so full marks here. My one and only complaint is the number of dogs on the premises,...More

The Old Dancer has friendly staff and customers and a good selection of drinks including a variety of ales. I failed to try the food but would definitely go again.

We called in the Old Dancer for the first time on Friday. They had a great selection of beers, friendly staff and a nice crowd of people. The lighting was a tad on the harsh side and the back of the pub was a little...More

Opened March 2014, The Old Dancer is a sister bar of The Treacle Tap, Macclesfield, & The Young Pretender, Congleton. Everyone at all three bars is passionate about beer. The current count has 7 BII qualified cellar managers on the staff! We have 10 keg fonts of European / craft beers, and 5 continually rotating handpulls on the bar, as well as real cider on draft and fridges rammed with bottled beers from all over the world. You know what they say about real ale ... It takes a lot of effort to get it right, so if a bar takes this much effort over its ale, the chances are it will put a lot of effort into everything else ... And we do! Our kitchens provide quality gastro food every day catering for vegetarians, vegans and gluten free - from sandwiches & snacks, through to a delicious range of smaller and larger plates as well as hearty roasts on Sunday. We also host all manner of events - live music, films nights, Scibar ~ check our 'events' page for details. Most are free entry.
